    • PURPOSE:To obtain a stainless steel plate having excellent resistance to intergranular corrosion, ridging, etc., by a simplified process in which an Al-containing ferrite stainless steel slab is continuously annealed under a specific condition to obtain a final product without the need for intermediate annealing treatment. CONSTITUTION:A 17-Cr ferrite stainless steel slab containing 0.07 to 0.25% Al is heated at 1,050 to 1,250 deg.C and then hot-rolled. Then, the hot-rolled steel plate is heated at 900 to 1,050 deg.C, held in the temperature range for a period of 20min or less, and then air-cooled to room temperature. After the continuous annealing, the steel plate is cold-rolled to the thickness of a final product by 1CR process (process wherein a primary annealing stage is eliminated) without the need for intermediate annealing treatment, and then subjected to recrystallization and annealing treatments. Thus, the formation of gamma-phase during high-temperature annealing treatment can be suppressed, so that a ferrite stainless steel plate having characteristics equal or superior to those of products obtained by box-annealing-2CR (process wherein 2 cold-rolling and 2 annealing stages are contd.) processes can be obtained.
