    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tantalum capacitor which lessens a contamination to the peripheral part of the tantalum capacitor as the emitting volume of smoke at the time of a failure of the capacitor (the time of the burning of the capacitor) is little, raises the repair of the capacitor, the recyclicity of the capacitor and moreover, the safety at the time of use of the capacitor and in addition, reduces an environmental load in incineration of waste products and dumping of incinerated ashes.
SOLUTION: A tantalum capacitor is sealed using an epoxy resin composition containing an epoxy resin (A), a phenol resin (B), a curing promotor (C), an inorganic filling material, (D) and an aluminum hydroxide (E) subjected to surface covering treatment with a cured thermosetting resin as its essential ingredients.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an epoxy resin composition for encapsulating an electronic part which has a highly flame-retardant property. SOLUTION: The epoxy resin composition comprises an epoxy resin, a hardener, an inorganic filler, an inorganic material which can soften in a high temperature atmosphere, wherein said hardener is a phenol resin (B) having the structural units derived from a phenol (A) in the molecule or a phenol resin having both the structural units derived from a phenol (A) and the structural units derived from an aromatic compound (C) excluding the phenol (A) in the molecule; and/or said epoxy resin is a novolac epoxy resin (E) obtained by the glycidyl-etherification of the phenolic hydroxyl groups of a phenol resin (B') having the structural units derived from a phenol (A) in the molecule, and/or a novolac epoxy resin (F) obtained by the glycidyl-etherification of the phenolic hydroxyl groups of a phenol resin (D) having both the structural units derived from a phenol (A) and the structural units derived from an aromatic compound (C) excluding the phenol (A) in the molecule.
