摘要： PURPOSE:To obtain nonlinear optical material having short absorption edge and large nonlinear optical characteristic by using a specific organic compound. CONSTITUTION:The organic compound shown in the formula I, peclon (N- nitrophenyl hydroxylamine ammonium salt) is used. Because this organic compound has short pi-conjugate length, the absorption edge is short and there is little fear to absorb output higher harmonics, and because the construction is of intermolecular salt, the crystallizing condition is stable and the crystal is easily made. Hereby, nonlinear optical material having large nonlinear optical characteristic and short absorption edge can be obtained.

In this way, the optical material excellent in wavelength converting characteristic is easily obtained.

摘要： PURPOSE:To obtain a recording medium and a recoding method on the basis of a novel recording principle by using a combined org. nonlinear optical material capable of exhibiting active and inert second order nonlinear optical characteristics. CONSTITUTION:P-nitroaniline and N-(p-nitrophenyl) ethylenediamine are separate ly pulverized and the resulting powders of less than several mum particle size are mixed in 2:1 molar ratio, melted on a glass substrate 1 by heating to 150 deg.C and solidified by slow cooling at 1 deg.C/min cooling rate to form a uniform thin recording layer 2. When a pattern is recorded on the layer 2 with the conven tional thermal head, the cooling rate of the heated part is about 5 deg.C/sec, the heated part shows very weak SHG and the unheated part shows very strong SHG to enable distinction between recording and non-recording. The recording medium can be returned to the original unrecorded state by reheating the slow solidification after melting.

This enables the formation of a magnetooptical crystal and a polarizer on the same substrate using the conventional semiconductor process art to eliminate a process for optical axis matching at a sensor section thereby reducing optical axis matching time.

摘要： PURPOSE: To obtain the compact optical fiber sensor having the excellent productivity by fitting optical' elements to an optical element insertion part provided at the predetermined position of an optical fiber. CONSTITUTION: An electric blower heater is used so as to bend an optical fiber along a mold made of stainless steel or ceramics. An optical fiber fixing groove 18 is formed on a board 19 by a rotary blade saw, and an optical fiber element wire 11 is fixed to this board 19. After fixing the optical fiber on the board 19, an optical element insertion groove 17, into which an optical element such as a polarizer, an analyzer, and a magnetic optical material is to be inserted. A polarizer 13 made of glass polarizing plate, an analyzer 15 and a garnet crystal 14 are inserted into the formed groove 17, and lastly they are fixed by the resin adhesive agent. At this stage, thickness of each optical element is formed at 0.55mm, and the polarizing surfaces of the polarizer 13 and the analyzer 15 are set at 45 degree.
