    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inverted F antenna built in a foldable mobile radio communication apparatus, which can realize a broadband characteristic even when the frequency band of a radio wave in use is comparatively low and a grounding conductor does not contribute to excitation of the antenna. SOLUTION: The inverted F antenna 102 is provided with a grounding conductor 11 and an antenna element 12 arranged on the grounding conductor 11 so as to face the grounding conductor 11. The inverted F antenna 102 further includes at least one coupling element 13 provided between the grounding conductor 11 and the antenna element 12 so as to face the grounding conductor 11 and the antenna element 12, and a short-circuiting conductor 22 is provided for electrically connecting the antenna element 12 with the grounding conductor 11 and a feeder conductor 21 connects the antenna element 12 to a feed point 25 to which a feeder coaxial cable 30 is connected via the coupling element 13. Since the inverted F antenna 102 is provided with the coupling element 13, the antenna 102 can obtain a plurality of resonance frequencies so as to realize more broadband frequency characteristics.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an adaptive antenna device capable of achieving a beam form incoming wave with an arbitrary azimuth angle and a null form interference wave with an arbitrary azimuth angle. SOLUTION: A mobile radio communication apparatus 100-1 comprises two receiving circuits and three antenna elements 20a, 20b, 20c and these antenna elements constitute a plurality of arrays each including two of them and being disposed in mutually different directions. An antenna switching circuit 1 connects the antenna elements included in any array to the receiving circuits. Each of the receiving circuits adjusts an amplitude and a phase of a radio frequency signal received by the antenna element connected thereto and outputs the adjusted signal and the output signals are combined by a combiner 11. A controller 10 adaptively controls the receiving circuits to have a beam in a desired wave direction and to form nulls in the direction of interference waves, controls the antenna switching circuit 1 to adaptively switch the plurality of arrays, so as to improve signal quality.
