    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a load on a patient to be treated with a radiation.
SOLUTION: A radiation therapy system includes: a first irradiation device 16-1 for therapy which generates the first radiation for therapy to be used for the radiation therapy; a second irradiation device 16-2 which generates the second radiation for therapy; supporting devices 15-1 to 15-3 for supporting the second and first irradiation devices 16-2 and 16-1 for therapy, thereby allowing the first and second radiations for therapy to be radiated to a part of a subject; and a timing controller 6 for controlling first timing to generate the first radiation for therapy and second timing to generate the second radiation for therapy. In this case, the dose rate of the radiations for therapy to be radiated to a part of the subject is made to be larger compared with an apparatus including only one irradiation device, so that time for the radiation therapy is shortened.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a radiation treatment system for controlling the dose of radiation for treatment with higher precision. SOLUTION: The radiation treatment system includes a waveguide tube 8 for forming a waveguide to transmit a high frequency from a high frequency source 5 to an acceleration tube 64, and a cooler for cooling the waveguide 8. The acceleration tube 64 accelerates charged particles 57 for generating the radiation 23 for the treatment by using the high frequency. The waveguide 8 sometimes generates heat, is deformed and varies transmission efficiency when transmitting the high frequency. The radiation treatment system reduces the deformation and reduces the variation of the transmission efficiency by cooling the waveguide 8. The radiation treatment system can reduce the variation of the energy (energy distribution) of the radiation 23 for the treatment, and control the dose of the radiation 23 for the treatment with higher precision. • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a radiotherapy system capable of more accurately controlling the dose of radiation. SOLUTION: The radiotherapy system 1 comprises free waveguides 74, 75, 86 and 87 deforming a part of waveguides for transmitting high-frequency waves from a high-frequency source 5 to an acceleration tube 64, and an irreversible circuit element 77 interposed between the acceleration tube 64 and the free waveguide 74, 75, 86 or 87 among the waveguides. The acceleration tube 64 accelerates charged particles 57 for generating therapeutic radiation 23 using high-frequency waves. The radiotherapy system 1 can prevent offsetting of high-frequency waves and distortion of waveforms when the irreversible circuit element 77 attenuates the reflected portion of the high-frequency waves advancing in the waveguides from the acceleration tube 64 to the high-frequency source 5 as compared to the advancing portion of the high-frequency waves advancing in the waveguides from the high-frequency source 5 to the acceleration tube 64, and can reduce the variation in the transmission efficiency, and therefore, the dose of the therapeutic radiation 23 can be accurately controlled. • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a radiotherapy apparatus which irradiates a diseased site with an appropriate dose of X rays and always orients the irradiation axis of the X rays emitted from a therapeutic X-ray generating source mounted on a gantry to the isocenter where the diseased site to be irradiated is located at an arbitrary gantry travelling angle to reduce the dose of the X rays emitted to the healthy tissues around the diseased site, and a controlling method of the radiotherapy apparatus. SOLUTION: In the radiotherapy apparatus, the therapeutic X-ray generating source is supported by the gantry through a gimbal mechanism for controlling to orient an X-ray axis. A marker member is disposed at an assumed position of the isocenter to identify the isocenter. The position of the marker member in the direction of the height is determined by using laser beams in the horizontal direction as an index, and a horizontal plane containing the isocenter is determined. At the arbitrary gantry travelling angle, X-ray images of the marker member at a plurality of rotation angles are acquired, and the central position is assumed as the position of the isocenter in the horizontal plane.
