    • PURPOSE:To improve recording efficiency by forming a thin film layer having a satd. magnetic flux density lower than the satd. magnetic flux density of a material constituting a core member to the butt part of a gap and expanding the gap length to the opposed surfaces of the core member in the stage of recording. CONSTITUTION:Core halves 1a, 1b are formed of Mn-Zn ferrite and are formed with slopes 7 on both sides of the opposed surfaces 6 having a prescribed track width. The thin film layer 3 is formed of a magnetic material having the satd. magnetic flux density lower than the satd. magnetic flux density of the Mn-Zn ferrite constituting the core halves 1a, 1b such as, for example, Co30Nb70. The layer 3 is formed by sputtering, etc. on the opposed surfaces 6 and slopes 7 of the core halves 1a, 1b. The gap 4 is formed of a nonmagnetic material such as SiO2 by sputtering. Recording and reproducing efficiency is improved if the layer 3 and the gap 4 are formed to have respectively about 1.5-2.0mum, 0.3-0.5mum thicknesses.

    • PURPOSE:To slide smoothly a magnetic recording medium by forming a recessed part on a medium sliding surface of a magnetic head, and sucking the magnetic recording medium which is running, to the medium sliding surface of the magnetic head. CONSTITUTION:One core base body 5 and the other core base body are made of Mn-Zn ferrite. Also, metallic magnetic films 6, 8 which are stuck to these core base bodies 5, 7 are formed by sputtering an amorphous magnetic alloy. A recessed groove 10 is formed in a shape of a long groove extending in the running direction of a magnetic recording medium, three lines each are recessed and provided, respectively, on a medium sliding surface 11 of one core base body 5 and the other core base body 7, and a size of each recessed groove 10 is prepared to 20mum width, 1mm length and 20mum depth. In this way, when the magnetic recording medium is driven to rotate, it is sucked to the medium sliding surface of a magnetic head by an action of the recessed part, the vibration is suppressed, and an uneven wear of the magnetic metallic film is decreased.

    • PURPOSE:To improve the adhesion of a magnetic core to a disc by decreasing the length of head elements arranged opposedly vertically while clipping the disc to be shorter than the length of the element holder so as to improve the contact surface pressure. CONSTITUTION:The length L1 of the head elements 3 of the magnetic head device arranged opposedly vertically while clipping a floppy disc in the disc running direction is decreased than the length L2 of the head element holder 2. since the area of the sliding faces 4a, 5a of the head element 3 is decreased remarkably to the area of the sliding face 2a of the holder 2, the contact surface pressure of the sliding faces 4a, 5a is increased in applying a pressing force to the head device. Thus, the adhesion with the disc is improved by increasing the contact surface pressure of the head without increasing the total surface pressure so as to improve the recording/reproducing characteristic.
