    • PURPOSE:To correct anisotropy of laser light emitting from a semiconductor laser without increasing number of parts in an optical head by using two prisms of different refractive indices for a beam splitter for beam shaping. CONSTITUTION:An isotropic light beam 2 emitted from a semiconductor laser 1 which is the light source of linearly polarized light is changed into parallel incident light 4 by a collimator lens 3, enters a beam splitter 5 through the incident surface 5a with an oblique angle where the beam is shaped. Since two prisms 5b, 5d which constitute the beam splitter 5 have different refractive indices from each other, the incident surfaces 5a and the beam splitting surface 5c have an effect of beam shaping, and thus, the beam 2 is changed into isotropic for any direction and exits from the exit surface 5e. The beam 2 is now a first irradiating light 10, reflected by a mirror 6, focused by an objective lens 7, and made to irradiate the recording surface 8 of a disk 8. By this constitution, anisotropy of semiconductor laser light can be corrected without using more parts in the optical head.

    • PURPOSE:To allow only one optical beam to transmit/receive an information signal and supply power to an information recording carrier by laminating a photodetecting element and a polarizing element to constitute a light I/O part to/from the information recording carrier. CONSTITUTION:At the time of reading out a signal, voltage is impressed to an electro-optical element 2A1 to selectively transmit projected light, incident laser beam upon crystal 2a1 is reflected on the surface of a photoelectric cell 2b1, made incident upon an alalyzer 14 to convert a change of polarization into a change in optical intensity and made incident upon a detector 16. An operation control circuit 6 forms a signal to be sent from the carrier 1A1 to a reproducing device 10A1 and the signal is added to the crystal 2a1 by a driving circuit 3 and read out from an amplifier circuit 17. At the time of recording, and output corresponding to the intensity of a laser beam 9a made incident upon the photoelectric cell 2b1 is rectified by a diode 51 and a capacitor 52 to obtain a DC voltage, the DC voltage is divided, the output of the photoelectric cell 2b1 is divided, a signal voltage obtained by subtracting both the divided outputs through a differential amplifier 55 is extracted and information is recorded in the carrier 1A1 by an output beam from the device 10A1. Since one optical window is sufficient for the carrier 1A1, the carrier is appropriate for application to an IC card.

    • PURPOSE:To enable high-speed transfer at a high recording density by subjecting the spacing between a conductive needle and information recording layer to servo control so as to obtain a reference value with the average value of tunnel current as a reference at the time of reproducing and the average value of the tunnel current before intensification for the purpose of recording as a reference at the time of recording. CONSTITUTION:A servo system for controlling the spacing between the information recording layer 15 and the information recording layer 4 controls the spacing between the conductive needle 15 and the information recording medium 1 in the perpendicular direction thereof by driving piezo-electric ceramics 45c to expand or contact in such a manner that the average value of the tunnel current attains the specified value. The spacing between the conductive needle 15 and the recording layer 4 is so maintained and controlled as to attain the reference value with the average value of the tunnel current obtd. by averaging the tunnel current fluctuating according to the presence or absence of recording as a reference at the time of recording. The spacing between the conductive needle and the recording layer 4 is maintained with the average value of the tunnel current at the point of the time before intensification of the tunnel current for the purpose of recording as a reference and is subjected to the servo control by the piezo-electric ceramics 45c so as to obtain the reference value at the time of recording.
