摘要： PURPOSE:To promote safety by limiting operation in the rising direction of boom to velocity set in advance in the case height position limits are released after the boom is stopped at a region exceeding an allowable elevation of the boom. CONSTITUTION:In the case an allowable elevation set switch 1 is turned CN after a boom is set in the required height by a boom control lever, an allowable elevation and a deceleration regional angle are stored in a storage section 6. After that, in the case the boom is controlled in the rising direction, a boom angle in that time is compared with the allowable elevation. Then, in the case the boom angle is larger than the allowable elevation, if a releasing switch 4 is in an OFF state, height position limits are continued to stop the boom. In the case the switch 4 is turned ON, and if time signals read from a timer 12 are within specific time, the boom is operated in a deceleration state. In addition, in the case the time signals exceed specific time, the boom is decided as malfunction, and the boom is stopped. According to the constitution, in the case height position limit control is released, the collision of the boom with an obstacle can be reduced, and it can cope with malfunction.

The engine 29 is positioned so that its crankshaft is oriented approximately in the horizontal direction of an operator seated in the driver's cab, and the heat exchangers (radiator 42 and oil cooler 43), the multiblade fan 51 and the engine 29 are arranged parallel to one another in the horizontal direction within the engine room 36, with the multiblade fan 51 disposed so that its fan rotating shaft 71 is oriented approximately in the vertical direction.
