    • PURPOSE: To receive both circularly and linearly polarized radio waves through a BS-CS antenna that uses a single radiator. CONSTITUTION: A probe 3 is attached to a probe shaft 5 which revolves in a circular waveguide 1, and a short plate 4 is interlocked to a short plate shaft 6 and revolves in the direction rectangular to the shaft 6. The distance is set at λ/4 between the probe 3 and an edge part 4a of the plate 4 together with a distance λ/8 set between the part 4a and the end face of a square waveguide 2 respectively. The protrusions 5b and 6b are provided on a transmission part 5a of the shaft 5 and on a stopper 6a of the shaft 6 respectively. A motor, etc., is attached at the back 5c of the part 5a to revolve the shaft 5 toward an arrow 7. The directions of both probe 3 and plate 4 are defined within a vertically polarized wave surface. Under such conditions, the part 4a of the plate 4 functions as the short surface of a conventional primary radiator and can receive the vertically polarized waves. In the same way, the circularly polarized waves can be received when the probe 3 and the plate 4 are set vertically and at 45 deg. respectively.

    • PURPOSE: To provide a microwave receiver easy to take out the lead wire of a polarization switch with preferable appearance and capable of easily securing airtightness. CONSTITUTION: A primary radiator 1 is equipped with a polarization switch 2 at a part of circular waveguide tube 1a. The polarization switch 2 is formed by winding a coil across a coil bobbin 3, and a ferrite 4 is inserted into its center part. A power for polarization switch is supplied to the polarization switch 2 on the lead wire 5. The terminal inside the circular waveguide tube 1a approaching the polarization switch 2 is formed in a large diameter, and the circular waveguide tube is coupled with the polarization switch 2 by loading a ring 11 to perform conversion from the circular waveguide tube 1a to a square waveguide tube on a large diameter part. A groove 14 is provided on the ring 11 in the longitudinal direction of an outer peripheral face, and the lead wire 5 of the polarization switch 2 is derived to the outside of the primary radiator 1 via the groove 14.
