    • PURPOSE:To take out a given amount of molten glass from a glass melting furnace accurately and automatically, by controlling an inserted length of a lever for collecting molten glass by using increase in rotation resistance that occurs when the lever which is revolved is inserted into the molten glass. CONSTITUTION:The lever 3 (the revolution drive part 4 of the lever 3, the setting part 5, the handling robot 6, and the control device 9) for collecting molten glass, which is rotated, is moved from a starting position to the position A shown by the dotted line, and the tip of the lever 3 is inserted into the glass melting part 2. With increase of length of the lever for collecting molten glass, the rotary resistance of the lever 3 caused by viscosity resistance of it with molten glass that is brought into contact. Consequently, electric current of the motor of the drive part 4 is increased, and, when the value of the electric current becomes a given value, the lever 3 is extracted from the glass melting part 2, and a given amount of molten glass is collected by the lever 3. Then, the lever 3 is transferred, its tip is positioned on the mold 8, the revolution is stopped, and the molten glass dropped by its own weight is packed into the mold 8 (the cutter 10).

An operating lever 11 movable back and forth by the driving of a motor 18 is attached to the movable lever 16, and the pole 4 attached to the operating lever 11 is revolved by the driving of a motor 21. Thus, molten glass is wound by the glass winding section 3 fitted to the tip end of the pole.

    • PURPOSE:The glass melted in a furnace is mechanically gathered with an arm and fed mechanically into a mold while preventing bubble inclusion and tailing, thus increasing the efficiency of gathering and feeding melted glass by a series of smooth and steady operations. CONSTITUTION:The glass-gathering arm 69 is made to advance to dip its gathering part 72 at the arm top end into the melted glass in the furnace. Then, the gathering part 72 is made to rotate by a rotation means 15 to gather the melted glass, as it is shifted toward the inlet of the furnace. The rotation is increased to separate the gathering part 72 from the melted glass in the furnace and the rotation is decreased, while the arm is taken out of the furnace. The arm is traversed, while being made to rotate, and inserted into a mold to feed the melted glass. Then, the arm is a little raised to cut the glass tailing between the mold and the gathering part 72 and simultaneously the arm 69 is half rotated and further, the rotation is continued and the gathering part 72 is dipped into the melted glass in the furnace.
