摘要： PURPOSE:To increase the quantity of the heat to be transmitted to a molten metal bath and to improve heat accumulation efficiency by ejecting subsonic oxygen contg. plasma separately from oxygen for decarburization into the molten metal bath to bring the same into reaction with the CO in the furnace and bringing the reaction gas thereof into collision against the metal bath. CONSTITUTION:An oxygen blowing nozzle 2 is provided in the molten metal smeltinf furnace 1 and a plasma generator 3 is provided to the center at the bottom end of the nozzle 2. The plasma generator 3 uses the peripheral wall of an outflow path 4 for H2, Ar, N2 or gaseous mixture composed thereof as an anode 5 and is provided with an anode 6 at the center thereof. A voltage is impressed between the two electrodes 5 and 6 to convert the outflow gas to plasma. The subsonic oxygen is ejected from ejection ports 7 provided around the generator 3 so that the oxygen jets contg. the plasma are ejected to the molten metal bath. The oxygen jets and the CO in the furnace 1 are brought into reaction and the resulted high temp. gaseous product of reaction is brought into collision against the molten metal bath so that the heat is transmitted to the molten metal bath by convection.
