    • PURPOSE: To obtain a noncombustible inorg. lightweight expanded and molded body having superior heat insulating properties, sound absorbing power, filtering power and extremely superior fire resistance, by converting most of the pores in an expanded, melt-stuck and molded body of natural glass granules into open pores.
      CONSTITUTION: Natural glass granules of obsidian, perlite or the like which is expanded to increase its volume when heated are pretreated in a steam atmosphere at 600W900°C for 5W150min. The pretreated granules are heated to the expansion temp. at 10W50°C/min heating rate. During the manufacture of highly expanded granules, the granules are melt-stuck and united in a body by an arbitrary pressurizing system to obtain the desired inorg. lightweight expanded and molded body. The body has open pores as ≥80% of all the pores, ≤10kcal/ mhr°C heat conductivity and ≤0.40g/cm
