    • PURPOSE:To shut off a passage and obtain a simple, inexpensive structure, by shutting off the passage by the use of a float which is seated on a valve seat when a descending pipe is brought into a vapor-liquid mixed condition, thereby detecting the vapor-liquid mixed condition in the passage without requiring a special driving source. CONSTITUTION:During the extraction of drink, a descending pipe 15 is filled with the drink, and a float 8 floats by buoyancy and is apart from a valve seat 19. Therefore, the drink flowing in from a dispensing-head-connecting part 11 is supplied to a dispenser from the descending pipe 15 via a dispenser- connecting part 17. When a barrel no longer has the drink in it, and carbon dioxide gas injected into the barrel gushes out, with the result that a passage shut-off mechanism 10 is brought into a vapor-liquid mixed condition, the buoyancy the float 18 receives greatly decreases, and the float 18 is pressed to the valve seat 19 by the action of gravity, a downward force, so that the passage is shut off. The extraction of the drink can be resumed by replacing the empty barrel with a new one, and by pushing up the pressing part 20A of a glass plate rod 20, thereby separating the float 18 from the valve seat 19.

    • PURPOSE:To provide a passage shut-off device which detects the vapor-liquid mixed condition in a passage without a large power source such as a commercial power source, thereby shutting off the passage, and which is small and safe. CONSTITUTION:To draw drink from a drink barrel, a passage 43 is opened with a valve mechanism 40 against a spiral spring 34 and the valve mechanism 40 is locked by a ratchet mechanism 30. When the passage 43 is filled with the drink, a detection signal is not output from a detecting means, therefore the valve mechanism 40 is held in a position for opening the passage 43. When the drink barrel becomes empty and a carbon dioxide gas gushes into the passage 43, with the result of a vapor-liquid mixed condition, a detection signal from the detecting means is output to a contact 14, and the ratchet mechanism 30 releases the locking of the valve mechanism 40 in the position for opening the passage 43, so that the valve mechanism 40 is biased by the spiral spring 34 and shuts off the passage 43.
