CONSTITUTION:On both sides of a plate-form beta-alumina solid electrolyte 10, an anode metallic container 12 and a cathode metallic container 13 are connected airtight to form separate cells on both sides of the plate-form beta-alumina, and an anode active substance 14 and a cathode active substance 15 are stored in the cells respectively. As a result, the resistant force is large even to a stress at the connection generated depending on the ambient temperature variation in the operation time and in the stopped time of the cell, and there is no fear of generating breakage or damage at the connection. Consequently, a cell of large strength and excellent durability can be obtained.

    • PURPOSE:To prevent the leakage of silicon grease at the time of lamination by sealing the upper and lower end portions of an inner holes located at the central portion of a glass and also providing corrosion resisting partition walls between the silicon rubber and the silicon grease. CONSTITUTION:An optical fiber 3 is inserted through an inner hole 2 located at the central portion of a glass 1 and the upper and lower end portions of the glass 1 are sealed with silicon rubbers 5-1, 5-2 to prevent the flow of silicon grease 4 in the inner hole 2. Partition walls 6-1, 6-2 provided between the silicon rubbers 5-1, 5-2 and the silicon grease 4 are made of organic matter than a silicon compound such as nitril rubber, butyl rubber, urethane rubber, epoxy resin acrylic resin or the like, which is less liable to react with the silicon grease 4 and has corrosion resistance. With this arrangement, the seal is prevent from being reacted with the silicon rubbers 5-1, 5-2 and the silicon grease 4, thus it is possible to eliminate the breakage of the seal, thus preventing the leakage of the end portions of the silicon grease 4.

    • PURPOSE:To enable the maintenance of lighting function and air tight insulation property so as to enable free control of circumferential atmosphere of a lightning protection element by sealing in an air tight manner only conductive covers of upper and lower parts of ZnO element by using an insulator main body and inorganic glass, through partial heating by induction heating. CONSTITUTION:Inorganic glass members 5-1, 5-2 are coatedly interposed between upper and lower conductive covers 4-1, 4-2 of a lightning element 2 and ceramic 1, and after both are compressed, the conductors are induction heated and the members 5-1, 5-2 are fused and fixed, thereby the upper and lower covers 4-1, 4-2 and the ceramic 1 are joined in an air tight manner. Namely, the members 4-1, 4-2 are composed of conductive material and the members 4-1, 4-2 are induction heated by the application of high frequency induction heating. Consequently, destroy position can be set at the covers for storing a ZnO element upon pressure release operation, and extension of cracking to the insulator main body can also be prevented. It is thus possible to improve pressure release characteristic upon generation of abnormal over current short-circuit and to reduce the size of a heating device, and further to enable free control of circumferential atmosphere of the element 2.
