    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bearer contact force evaluating device capable of singly evaluating the effects of a contact force acting on the inside of a transmission path on attenuation. SOLUTION: The bearer contact force evaluating device is constituted of an electric circuit part A to generate and receive electric signals and a probe part B to perform bidirectional conversion between the electric signals and surface waves 10. In the probe part B, a probe main body 13 is formed in a circular shape to match the surface shape of a roller and is installed to the surface of a bearer 1 and supported. The surface waves 10 are generated by an oscillating part 8 and a transmitter 9. The surface waves 10 pass through a roll contact part (the contact part between the bearer 1 and a bearer 1') on which a contact force 5 is acting and then are measured at a receiver 11 and receiving part 12. As surface waves have directivity, and most of their energy is characteristically transmitted through a region down to a depth approximately half wavelength from the surface, it is possible to evaluate the effects of the contact force acting on the inside of a transmission path on sound pressure attenuation.

    • PURPOSE:To reduce vibration and improve the quality of manufactured products and reduce the noises by not exerting large loads on a sheet by sealing a low melting point metal having a melting point to be a molten state during the steam-introduction operation in the interstices between cylindrical sleeves and cylindrical cores. CONSTITUTION:On the outer circumferential surface of cylindrical cores 18U, 18P formed on one or both rollers of an upper roller 1' and press roller 3', thin wall cylindrical sleeves 17U, 17P are provided, and in the interstices 19U, 19P between the cylindrical sleeves 17U, 17P and the cylindrical cores 18U, 18P, a low melting point metal having a melting point to be a molten state during the steam-introduction operation is sealed. Accordingly, heat of steam introduced into roller hollow parts 16U, 16P is transmitted from the inner cylinder via the low melting point metal and outer sleeves with the result that the outer surfaces of the roller sleeves is made high temperature. Since the sealed low melting point metals 20U, 20P liquefy, small shell-like elastic vibrations are decreased relative to impacts by viscous resistance through fluidization, as a result, it acts to reduce the noises.
