    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a harmful heavy metal removing method which enables the easy and efficient removal of harmful heavy metals from wastewater containing the harmful heavy metals and a harmful heavy metal removing apparatus.
      SOLUTION: In the harmful heavy metal removing method for removing harmful heavy metals from wastewater L containing the harmful heavy metal, wastewater L is subjected to hydrothermal reaction to form treated water L2 containing a solid component S of the harmful heavy metals and the solid component S is removed from this treated water L2. After the treated water L2 is formed, it is separated by using a gas-liquid separator 4 to form a liquid L3 containing the solid component S and the formed liquid L3 is separated by a solid-liquid separator 5 to obtain the solid component S, which is, in turn, removed to remove harmful heavy metals from the wastewater L.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively subject the products to solid-liquid separation when subjecting organic chlorine-containing solid matter such as firebrick that has been used in an incinerator to hydrothermal reaction treatment. SOLUTION: This device is a treating device for making organic chlorine compound- containing solid matter harmless. It is provided with a hydrothermal reaction vessel in which slurry S resulting from adding water to powder of the solid matter is made in a high temperature and pressure state, causing hydrothermal reaction to decompose the organic chlorine compounds and a solid-liquid separator 9 connected to the downstream side of the hydrothermal reaction vessel and for subjecting the products formed in the hydrothermal reaction vessel to solid-liquid separation. The solid-liquid separator 9 is provided with a tank body 9b into which the products are introduced and which is evacuated to vaporize the products and from whose upper part the vaporized gas- liquid components are discharged, a jetting pipe 9c connected to the downstream side of the hydrothermal reaction vessel and for jetting the products fed from the hydrothermal reaction vessel side in a high temperature and pressure state into the tank body 9b from the tip thereof upwards, and a jetting baffle plate 9d installed above the tip of the jetting pipe 9c, being away from and opposite to it.
