    • PURPOSE:To obtain information on the magnitude of pulse width with a simple constitution by storing the pulse width in a previous cycle with the aid of an analog value available from converting said pulse into a voltage by means of a lamp wave and a sample and hold circuit and comparing the pulse width of a current cycle with that of the previous cycle. CONSTITUTION:Where an increase in the detected pulse width of (n+1) cycle is larger than that Tn of an n-cycle, the held voltage of the sample and hold circuit 18 is Vsquaren+1 in the (n+1) cycle. Since the input 2 of an AND gate 17 is 'L', the sample and hold circuit 19 does not execute its sampling action in the (n+1) cycle, and a voltage Vn sampled in the n-cycle is held. Because of Vn>Vsquaren+1, outputs of a comparator followed by the rise of a pulse Tn+1 come to 'L', and accordingly the output of an EXOR becomes 'L'. When the output is latched at a time t3, the output H of a DFF25 comes to 'L' after the time t3. Consequently the output of an FF25 comes to 'L' when the detected pulse width Tn+1 in the (n+1) cycle is longer than that Tn in the n-cycle. If the detected pulse width in the current cycle is short, the pulse width comes to 'H'.

    • PURPOSE:To dissolve the shortage of withstand voltage of a phototransistor by fixing the base voltage of a drive transistor in cascade connection with the phototransistor of a photocoupler by a zener diode at low voltage. CONSTITUTION:From AC line input voltage, direct current voltage is obtained by a constant voltage direct current power source circuit 2, fed to a high voltage generating circuit 3 through a power source control transistor 7, and the high voltage is produced at a high voltage output terminal 4. By output voltage split- resistances 12, 13 the high output voltage is detected, an error signal is obtained by an error amplifying transistor 7 and the luminous diode of a photocoupler 8. Collector current of a drive transistor 6 in cascode connection with the phototransistor of the photocoupler 8 and fixing the base voltage at low voltage by a zener diode 10' is controlled by an error amplifying transistor 7 and by the collector current thereof, the base voltage of the power source control transistor 5 is controlled to make the high output voltage constant.

      SOLUTION: A collector terminal of an IGMT 25 is connected to a power supply Vcc line and an emitter terminal of the IGBT 25 is connected to an output terminal of an output circuit 21, respectively. A cathode terminal (K) of a diode 29 is connected to a line on the side of a power supply Vcc and an anode terminal of the diode 29 is connected to the output terminal, respectively. A collector terminal of an IGBT 27 is connected to an output terminal and an emitter terminal of the IGBT 27 is connected to a common sustain circuit through a virtual ground line, respectively. A cathode terminal of a diode 31 is connected to the output terminal and an anode terminal of the diode 31 is connected to the common sustain circuit 1 through the virtual ground line, respectively. A rectangular wave pulse is output to the corresponding scan electrode from the output terminal from the common sustain circuit 1 through the virtual ground line and the diode 31.

SOLUTION: Acicular light guide bodies in a shape of a frustum of a cone are stood in large numbers; and the output light of a display element is propagated by total reflection in the acicular light guide bodies and external light is repeatedly reflected on a surface forming a wedge surface to attenuate. Further, when light absorbing film is coated on the surface of acicular light guide bodies, a contrast ratio is made large. With this structure, a high contrast is obtained in a light room, the acicular light guide bodies stood in large numbers are made long, and light incidence surfaces of the acicular light guide bodies are brought into contact with a display panel display surface to reduce crosstalk between adjacent pixels, thereby reducing a decrease in contrast due to display light.
