    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermal transfer film which is excellent in the durability of an obtained thermal transfer print, including the abrasion resistance, light-resistance and forgery preventing properties, and which causes little damage on a transfer object and brings about neither deterioration of the quality of the print, nor a rise of the manufacturing cost. SOLUTION: In the thermal transfer film, a thermal transfer layer having a projecting part partially is formed on one side of a base, at the most distant position from the base, and by using this film, the thermal transfer layer is transferred onto the transfer object. On the occasion, it is possible to form an image beforehand on the object of transfer of the thermal transfer layer by a thermal transfer recording method or the like and to transfer the thermal transfer layer onto the image. In another way, it is possible to form a thermal transfer image by transferring a thermal transfer ink layer onto the thermal transfer layer of the thermal transfer film and to transfer the image together with the thermal transfer layer whereon it is formed. In either way, the image is protected by the thermal transfer layer and the projecting part of the thermal transfer layer transferred onto the transfer object can be distinguished by the reflection of light according to the angle of a glance to an image recording surface. A protective layer and the projecting part can be formed on the transfer object by one transfer.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermal transfer film which shows the outstanding durability such as wear resistance and light fastness of an obtained imaged matter and good transfer sensitivity and anti-blocking properties during a period when the film is taken up and kept and an imaging method using this film and an imaged matter. SOLUTION: A thermal transfer film 1 has a thermal transfer layer 3 composed mainly of a polyester resin with a glass transition point of 50 to 100 deg.C and a number average molecular weight of 1,000 to 10,000 formed on one of the surface sides of a base 21 and at a farthest position from the base 21. Further, a heat transfer recording medium 7 has a thermal transfer ink layer 8 containing a thermoplastic resin and a coloring agent formed on at least the other surface side of the base 21. In addition, the thermal transfer ink layer 8 of the thermal transfer recording medium 7 or the coloring agent contained in the thermal transfer ink layer 8 is transferred, in an image fashion, to the thermal transfer layer 3 of the thermal transfer film 1 by heating the film 1 and the medium 7 in an image fashion. Consequently, a reverse image is once formed on the thermal transfer film 1 and then the whole thermal transfer layer 3 with a formed image is transferred to an imaged matter 10. Thus it is possible to form an image on the imaged matter 10.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermal transfer image receiving sheet releasable from a dye film at its rear surface without heat fusion bonding even at the time of erroneously printing a dye image receiving surface as the rear surface with scarcely charging even in a low humidity environment in the sheet of a constitution having a rear surface layer writable by various type writing instrument and formed on a surface at opposite side to the surface formed with a dye receptive layer. SOLUTION: In the thermal transfer image receiving sheet comprising a dye receptive layer provided at least one side surface of a base material sheet, a hydrophilic porous layer containing a thermoplastic resin and hydrophilic porous particles as main components is formed at an opposite side to the surface formed with the receptive layer, and further a conductive release layer containing a cationic acrylic resin and a cellulose acetate as main components is formed thereon. Thus, the acrylic resin and the cellulose acetate are substantially noncompatible resins. And, the noncompatible properties incorporate a conductivity and water absorbing properties in the acrylic resin so that performances of releasability and water resistance can be made compatible in the cellulose acetate.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a thermal ink transfer image receiving sheet which is highly applicable for use with a printer, free from the deterioration of an image concentration or the set-off of a dye, even if the image receiving sheet after an image is recorded is stacked on another image receiving sheet and stored, and is satisfactorily receptive for writing on the rear face by various types of writing tool with an adequate adhesion to a postal stamp and the usefulness as a pictorial postcard. SOLUTION: This thermal ink transfer image receiving sheet consists of a coloring material receptive layer 3 provided on one of the faces of a base sheet 2 and a rear face layer 3 composed mainly of a thermoplastic resin and a hydrophilic porous microsilica with a pore volume of 0.2-3.0ml/g formed on the other face. The ideal thermoplastic resin is polyvinyl butylal and the prefered microsilica is of an average grain diameter of 0.5-15μm. The preferred addition weight ratio of the microsilica to the thermoplastic resin is 0.1-1.0. In addition, it is recommended that a spherical lubricative filler with a larger grain diameter than the microsilica or an isocyanate compound be added as a curing agent on the rear face layer.
