    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrophotographic apparatus (color electrophotographic apparatus) which employs a tandem intermediate transfer system, which has a long life even when a photosensitive layer (charge transport layer) of an electrophotographic photoreceptor is formed into a thin film so as to obtain high image quality, even in an electrophotographic apparatus (color electrophotographic apparatus) having no discharging means to discharge the surface of the electrophotographic photoreceptor prior to charging, and which suppresses complication of the apparatus configuration or increase in the cost.
      SOLUTION: At least one electrophotographic photoreceptor in the electrophotographic photoreceptor in each image forming section contains two or more kinds of charge transport materials in the charge transport layer, and at least one kind of charge transport material in the charge transport materials shows 0.8 to 0.9 eV oxidation potential. The proportion of the charge transport material having 0.8 to 0.9 eV oxidation potential is ≥50 mass% with respect to the whole mass of the charge transport materials.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a contact electrification system by which uniform electrification is stably performed over a long term without causing sticking and soiling to/by an electrophotographic photoreceptor and a process cartridge provided with the contact electrification system.
      SOLUTION: In an electrifying device for electrifying a body to be electrified, an electrifying member possesses a conductive supporting body and also at least a conductive elastic layer and a surface layer covering the surface of the conductive elastic layer on the conductive supporting body. The conductive elastic layer consists of thermoplastic elastomer where conductive particles are dispersed. When Rz1 stands for the ten-point average roughness of the surface layer and Rz2 that of the surface of the body to be electrified, a relation Rz1+Rz2≤20 μm (here Rz2≤5 μm) is satisfied.
