    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing an aromatic polyamide fiber excellent in dimensional stability, particularly dimensional stability in the length direction against humidity as a fiber for resin belt reinforcement.
      SOLUTION: The method for producing the aromatic polyamide fiber comprises immersing an aromatic polyamide fiber into a treating liquid containing a polyvinyl halide compound and a rubber latex and then heat-treating the impregnated fiber. The fiber is preferably a copoly-para-phenylene-3,4'-oxydiphenylene-terephthalamide, and the rubber latex comprises, preferably, a vinylpyridine-styrene-butadiene latex and the ratio of the polyvinyl halide compound to the rubber latex is preferably 7:3 to 1:9. In the heat treatment, the fiber is preferably heated to ≥200°C. After heat treatment, treatment with a water-soluble epoxy is preferably carried out. The fiber is suitable for reinforcement of a thermosetting urethane and the resin belt is preferably applied to a resin belt for OA devices.

      SOLUTION: The easily dyeable meta-type wholly aromatic polyamide fiber is a fiber comprising a composition composed of 100 pts.wt. meta-type wholly aromatic polyamide and 0.1-20 pts.wt. para-type wholly aromatic polyamide, and having 3.0-5.0 cN/dtex breaking strength, 300-360°C maximum heat shrinkage temperature and 0-15% shrinkage at the temperature. The fiber has the excellent easily dyeable properties and heat resistance, and is suitable for applications as a protective clothing material.
