    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fitting for a column base, which is applicable by itself to a column different in diameter.
      SOLUTION: The fitting 20 for the column base abuts on a lower end of the column 2 having a circular or a polygonal hollow cross section, and supports the column. The fitting is integrally formed of a plate-like base portion 12, and a protrusion 22. The base portion is fixed to an upper surface of a foundation and has mounting holes 13 formed therein. The protrusion has a tapered side surface 24 and is formed like a truncated almost conical shape or a truncated almost polygonal pyramidical shape. Further the tapered side surface 24 has a connecting recess 26 formed therein at an arbitrary location between an upper edge and a lower edge of the tapered side surface, for connecting thereto a lower edge of the support 2.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hydraulic damper, made slimmer and smaller than the conventional one, and decreased in the number of parts.
      SOLUTION: An oil chamber 22 and a pressurizing chamber 23 are provided rather closer to the head side than a first hydraulic fluid chamber 4 in a cylinder 2 of the hydraulic damper 1 to constitute an accumulator 21. The pressurizing chamber 23 is provided with a pressure accumulating spring 25 and a pressure accumulating piston 24. The oil chamber 22 and a second hydraulic fluid chamber 5 are connected to each other by a pipeline 26 formed along the side of the cylinder 2. The pressure accumulating piston 24 is operated by pressure variation in the second hydraulic fluid chamber 5 to increase or decrease the volume of the oil chamber 22, thereby stabilizing the pressure in the second hydraulic fluid chamber 5. In this hydraulic damper 1, the accumulator 21 is built in the cylinder 2 to make the hydraulic damper slimmer and smaller.
