The pressing mechanism part includes: an end face contacting member 711 which is contactable with the end face 5e; a side face contacting member 712 which is contactable with a side face of the eccentric part 5d; a spindle to which the end face contacting member 711 and the side face contacting member 712 are attached; transferring means for transferring the spindle in an axial direction of the workpiece 5; and a motor for rotating the spindle.

The electrode winding device operates as follows: when a defective electrode is discarded, the chucks (33) is moved by the reciprocating drive means (41) from the standby position to the operating position; at the operating position, the chucks (33) are closed by the operation driving unit (39) to hold the defective electrode therebetween; the chucks (33) are rotated by the rotationally driving unit (40) to wind the defective electrode around the outer circumference of the chucks (33); and then the wound defective electrode is discarded from the chucks (33).
