A thickness of the upper side mica plate 5 sandwiching the heating wire 3 is set thinner than that of the lower side mica plate 6.

摘要： PURPOSE:To prevent a drop nozzle from colliding with a cover when a tank is mounted or removed by forming a clearance between the cover and lower surface of the drop nozzle and, at the same time, making the projecting section on the lower surface of the tank to be separated from a projecting section provided on the cover when the drop nozzle is positioned above the coupling point of the drop nozzle and an iron main body. CONSTITUTION:Projecting sections 14a are provided on both sides of a sealing member 20 and projecting sections 18a formed on the lower surface of a tank 18 behind a drop nozzle 19 are provided at positions at which the sections 18a can come into contact with the sections 14a of a cover 14. Then, a clearance is formed between the cover 14 and the lower surface of a drop nozzle 19 and, at the same time, it is contrived that the sections 18a on the lower surface of the tank 18 can be separated from the sections 14a provided on the cover 14 when the nozzle 19 is positioned above the coupling point with the main body 21. Therefore, collision of the nozzle 19 with the cover 14 can be prevented when the tank 18 is mounted on and removed from the main body 21 and the cover 14 can be protected from being damaged.

When a switch is on a high-frequency current is passed to each of magnetic flux generating coils 22a to 22e via a magnetic flux generation controlling portion 23 and each coil is excited and Joule's heat is generated inside an iron stand 20.

Moreover, the composition of the enamel particles which can be made into glass are sprayed on the enamel layer 3 and the layer 3 is enamelled simultaneously with the strips 4. As a result, the contact front surface area of the sole with a cloth to be ironed is reduced and the coefficient of friction can be reduced. Moreover, the excellent adhesion property of the enamel strips is obtained and, then, the whole front surface of the sole is made not to be sensitive to dyeing.

This constitution thereby prevents a great amount of water (water drop) from being injected thougtlessly out of the steam injection port 8 formed on the lower surface of an iron base 2, and also prevents concurrently the port from being plugged with foreign objects, fur and the like contained in water by means of filtering action of the formed metallic porous substance 9.
