By specifying a sub-information signal, at the time of a reproduction, a signal is properly processed according to these information and an information series throughout plural channels and plural types of information series can be recorded and reproduced.

    • PURPOSE:To improve the picture quality of a reproducced picture by inserting a reference signal in a video signal divided into plural channels to perform an FM recording, adjusting an equalizer during a reproduction, and correcting the frequency characteristic between the channels. CONSTITUTION:A reference signal generating circuit 6 generates the reference signal in a reference signal inserting timing position formed by a timing control circuit 5. This signal is inserted into the time base extension two channel divided video signal by a two channel division circuit 3 in reference signal inserting circuits 7, 8 and a recording base band signal is recorded on a magnetic tape 17 through FM modulation circuits 11, 12. A reproducing signal goes to a reproducing base band signal in FM demodulation circuits 24, 25 via reproducing equalizers 22, 23 and the timing of the reference signal is selected in a reproducing synchronization separating circuit 32. Filter banks 26, 27 are controlled by the output of the timing control circuit 5 operating based on a reproducing synchronizing signal, a microcomputer 34 corrects the characteristic of the reproducing equalizer and the reproducing base band signal has a frequency characteristic corrected.

CONSTITUTION:A luminance signal Sy is applied to memories 13A-13D via an A-D converter 12 from an input terminal 11 and recorded on a tape 2 via switch circuits 14A, 14B and D-A converters 15A, 15B and FM modulation circuits 16A and 16B, recording amplifiers 17A and 17B and heads 1A and 1B. In this case, the luminance signal is split into two-channel at a specified time, the time axis is expanded to two times and recorded as two-track. The luminance signal reproduced from the tape 2 at the heads 1A and 1B is inputted to memories 25A-25D via playback amplifiers 21A, 21B, limiters 22A and 22B, FM demodulation circuits 23A and 23B, and A-D converters 24A and 24B, the time axis is compressed to 1/2 and the signal is outputted via a switch circuit 26 and a D-A converter 27.

    • PURPOSE:To improve the quality of a reproduced picture by making it possible to record only a normal carrier output on a corresponding channel by delaying and mixing adjacent carriers of respective channels in recording mode. CONSTITUTION:Input video signals after Hadamard's conversion 2 are frequency- modulated 31-38 by channels and while respective modulation outputs are supplied to mixers 41-48, their carriers are delayed 51-58 by as long as a fixed value and supplied to mixers of adjacent channels, whose mixture outputs are recorded on a tape by way of heads 71-78 respectively. In this case, a crosstalk component due to carrier interference between heads is removed by the delay carrier of an adjacent channel. Only a normal carrier output is therefore recorded on each channel. In reproduction mode, output signals from respective heads are passed through demodulators 81-88, time-axis correction units 91-98, and Hadamard power inverter 10 to obtain an original signal.
