    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tilting pad journal bearing device which suppresses unstable vibration derived from working fluid force of a turbo machine by increasing the anisotropy of bearing spring constant.SOLUTION: The tilting pad journal bearing device 1 is provided with a pad 3 which is disposed around a rotary shaft 2 and supports the rotary shaft 2, and a bearing housing 4 which houses the pad 3. The tilting pad journal bearing device 1 includes: a load directional pad 3a located in load direction of the rotary shaft 2; pads 3b, 3c provided adjacent thereto in a circumferential direction of the load directional pad 3a. A bump 6 is formed on a pressure receiving surface 5 of the pads 3b, 3c provided adjacent thereto in a circumferential direction of the load directional pad 3a, to enlarge the anisotropy of the bearing spring constant and to suppress unstable vibration derived from the working fluid force of the turbo machine by making the area of the pressure receiving surface 5 supporting the rotary shaft 2 of the load directional pad 3a larger than the area of the pressure receiving surface 5 of the pads 3b, 3c supported in a circumferential direction of the load directional pad 3a.

      SOLUTION: This tilting pad bearing has a plurality of bearing pads 15 slantingly arranged around a rotary shaft 2, a pad housing for holding the bearing pads 15 from a back face, a pair of side plates 16A and 16B arranged on both ends of the bearing pads 15 in a state of inserting the rotary shaft 2 into through-holes 17A and 17B, and an oil feeding passage for supplying the lubricating oil to a substantially blocked-up space formed of the pad housing, the respective side plates 16A and 16B and the rotary shaft 2. The through-hole 17B of one side plate 16B is larger in the opening area than the through-hole 17A of the other side plate 16A.

The pad 11B is supported at the fulcrum b of the first leveler 14. The pad 11C is supported at the fulcrum c of the second leveler 15. A bearing load received by the pad 11A is shared with the pads 11B and 11C, thus equalizing the load share of each pad.
