    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotary switch that does not cause an operation member such as a winding core or a magnet member to be damaged even when a moving operation of the operating member is carried out in an axial direction and can accurately detect rotation of the operating member by a single magnetic sensor by always allowing the magnet member to correspond to the single magnetic sensor. SOLUTION: An engagement section 8 having a non-circular cross section of a winding core 4 is engaged with an engagement hole 18 of a magnet member 6. Accordingly, when a moving operation of the winding core 4 is carried out in the axial direction, the magnetic member 6 can be moved relative to the winding core 4, thereby the magnet member 6 can be kept at a predetermined position in the axial direction of the winding core 4. Therefore, even when the moving operation of the winding core 4 is carried out in the axial direction, the winding core 4 or the magnet member 6 is not damaged and the magnet member 6 is always allowed to correspond to the magnetic sensor 7. As a result, even when the winding core 4 is moved to each of a plurality of positions in the axial direction, the single magnetic sensor 7 can accurately detect the rotation of the winding core 4.
