    • PURPOSE:To set the tape speed at a fixed level in a fast forward mode by detecting the revolving cycles of both the take-up and supply reels of a magnetic tape and then controlling the drive torque of a motor which drives the take-up reel based on the detected revolving cycle. CONSTITUTION:The right and left reel revolving cycles are referred to as Tt and Ts respectively, and the values of Tt, Ts and Tt +Ts are shown in a graph. As a result, the value of Tt +Ts is constant at any position of a tape as long as the tape speed is constant. On the contrary, the tape speed can be controlled to an optional fixed level when the value of Tt +Ts is set at an optional fixed level. Here the tape speed is controlled so that the value of Tt is equal to 1/900 compared with that of a reproduction mode. Then the tape speed can be controlled at a fixed level equal to 30 times as high as that of a reproduction mode when the tape is fast forwarded. Then it is discriminated whether the tape speed is higher or lower than the level equal to 30 times as high as that of the reproduction mode. When the tape speed is lower than said level, the revolving cycle of a reel drive disk is increased. Therefore the value of Tt + Ts is larger than the comparison data C. Thus the driving torque of a reel motor is increased to increase the tape speed.

That is, the count values corresponding to the running speeds A, B are (a) and 2a respectively even at the special reproducing mode.

Since the part 1b is already positioned at the capstan 4 and 5, change in running condition caused by the boundary between the parts 1a and 1b does not occur.

    • PURPOSE:To discriminate the running speed of a recording tape, by detecting the level change in a difference frequency output between a reproduced tracking pilot signal and an injection oscillator output. CONSTITUTION:The tracking pilot signal in the reproduced output is amplified, inputted to a mixing circuit 2, and mixed with an output of the injection oscillating circuit 3 whose oscillating frequency is changed at the field period by an RF switching signal. After amplification, the signal is inputted to filters 5, 6 whose center frequency is set to 16, 46kHz and the detecting stage is provided, and the difference frequency output of the both is led out. A subtraction output subtracting the difference frequency output in 46kHz from the difference frequency output in 16kHz at a subtraction circuit 7 is inputted, and an analog switch 9 using its output and the subtraction output as a switching input is switched by an RF switching signal, and the inverted output is synthesized. This inverted output is inputted to a level detecting circuit 10 having a threshold level. The recording density of a tape is discriminated by discriminating the difference of the period of the inverted output obtained from the detected output G.

    • PURPOSE:To make a running speed constant irrespective of a tape take-up diameter by varying the time constant of a monostable multivibrator of a tape speed control system in accordance with the frequency of a reproducing control signal, and executing a control so that said signal frequency becomes constant. CONSTITUTION:A reproducing control signal (M in the figure) is shaped in waveform (N in the figure) by an amplifier 13, and thereafter, voltage P corresponding to frequency of the reproducing control signal is obtained by a frequency-voltage transducer 14, and a time constant of a monostable multivibrator 5 is varied in accordance with this voltage P through an emitter-follower circuit 15. When a tape winding diameter increases and a running speed of a tape becomes high, frequency of the reproducing control signal M is also varied, and following it, the voltage P is varied, and the time constant (delay amount) of the monostable multivibrator 5 is varied. It means a fact that a reference speed of a speed controlling circuit is varied, therefore, when variation degrees of the voltage P and the time constant are set suitably, it is possible to control to a constant tape speed.
