    • PURPOSE: To enable manufacturing of a liner exhibiting completely isotropic behavior between explosive moldings in a predetermined reproducible manner, by using a specified low carbon iron material. CONSTITUTION: Low carbon iron material has a super fine-grain structure with the grain size of less than 100 μm, with the dissolved carbon content of less than 0.01% (weight percent) and with a surface reduction rate of 80% or more in destruction. The molten raw iron is refined by initially adding oxygen for production of molten iron having the carbon content of less than 0.01 weight percent up thereto and the refined molten iron is deoxidized and cast by slowly adding powder aluminum to the molten material. The cast material thus obtained undergoes a hot rolling in a hot wide-band rolling machine to set or produce a constant very homogeneous iron structure which depends on the temperature and the deformation with the grain size of 100 μm. The reshaping temperature during the hot rolling must be higher than 850 deg.C. Thereafter, an explosive charge liner with a desired shape is formed from a hot rolled steel plate.

    • PURPOSE: To enhance releasing performance at the sectral part of a propulsion cage by disposing, on the bottom of a rotary band, at least one means for locking a fracture starting means forming a specified fracture part on the outer surface of the sectral part of the propulsion cage in a region of each separation face. CONSTITUTION: A plane 13 extending radially at a sectral part lies in a separation plane 14 extending in the axial direction of a projectile 10 in a propulsion cage bullet feeding tube 12. A similar separation plane is present between each pair of adjacent tubes 12. Each sectral part is held integrally by a wide hermetic seal rotary band 20 and a narrow holding band 16. Both bands 20, 16 are made of plastic by injection molding to cover the outer circumference of the propulsion cage directly. The plane 14 is arranged between respective sectral parts while extending in the axial direction of the projectile 10. Since two key-like protrusions 22 are arranged on the lower surface of the band 20 on the opposite sides of the plane 14, the band can be prevented from extending to the plane 14 or the vicinity thereof ant the sectral part is separated surely and reproducibly.
