    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a visitor monitoring system by which a user can clearly confirm an entire image of a person coming around an entrance door in spite of residing indoor without the need for an external power supply. SOLUTION: The monitoring system includes; a wide-angle lens 2 for capturing an image in the vicinity of an entrance door 1; a CCD device 3 for capturing a curved image obtained through the wide-angle lens 2; a computer 4 for converting the curved image captured by the CCD device 3 into a planar image; and a monitor 5 for outputting the planar image converted by the computer 4, and also a power generating device 7 that is placed on a path in front of the entrance door 1 and generates power when a person is located on the path to supply power to the visitor monitoring apparatus. The power generating device 7 has a rubber layer 9 placed on the lower face of the path and a piezoelectric element 1 embedded in the rubber layer 9.

The piezoelectric generator is a laminar piezoelectric ceramic plate produced by laminating a pair of piezoelectric ceramic plates directing the polarization directions opposite to each other. Electric power is generated by knocking one or both faces of the piezoelectric ceramic plate with a knocking member placed in the piezoelectric generator.

The alarm device 5 gives alarm based on the signal from the deciding circuit 10. The switching device 6 turns on/off the operation switch provided at the control device 4.
