    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the surface quality of a steel sheet and the productivity by applying nonaqueous liquid containing one or more kinds of alkaline metals and alkaline earth metals to a stainless steel sheet, sticking these metals on the surface of the steel sheet and executing annealing. SOLUTION: In the case of executing the annealing in the sticking state of rolling oil at the material between a rolling mill 1 and a coiling machine 2B or at the upstream side of the annealing equipment 7, or in the case of executing the annealing after degreasing at the downstream side of a cleaning and degreasing device 9, the liquid containing the alkaline metals or the alkaline earth metals is applied on the steel sheet by arranging a coating nozzle 5 to each case. Desirably, the alkaline metals are Na and K and the alkaline earth metals are Ca. It is desirable that the concn. of these metals is 30-1000 ppm. The kind of steel in the stainless steel sheet is not specially limited, but austenite base is suitable among these, and the improving effect of the descaling property is obtd.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent development of edge cracks, fluctuation of the rolling load, chatter marks, and breakage of steel plates by specifying the temperature of the steel plate on the inlet side of the first pass when a hot rolled austenitic stainless steel plate in which the total draft and the draft of each pass are specified, is cold rolled. SOLUTION: When a hot-rolled austenitic stainless steel plate in which the total draft is >=50%, and the draft of each pass is >=15% is cold rolled, edge cracks and generation of chatter marks of the steel plate during the cold rolling are prevented by controlling the temp. of the steel plate at the inlet side of the first path to 25 to =10% working- induced martensite is generated, and chatter marks are generated. In particular, the fluctuation in load at acceleration/deceleration part, generation of chatter marks, and breakage of the plate can be prevented, and the rolling can be stabilized even when emulsion oil is used, and the rolling is achieved at high rolling speed of >=300 m/min, using reverse type rolling mill during the winter time when the outside temperature is low, and the temperature of the inlet side steel plate is low.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To execute high speed rolling of a steel sheet required for high gloss even when a new liquid is supplied to adjust concentration and a liquid level by using a uniform solution prepared through previous addition of a prescribed amount of water to a stock solution of a rolling mill lubricant as the rolling mill lubricant of an oil-in-water type emulsion. SOLUTION: Water of 1-10 vol.% is previously added to the stock solution of a rolling mill lubricant used as an oil-in-water type emulsion to get a uniform solution, then the solution is used as the emulsion of concentration-in-water of 1-10 vol.% and thus cold rolling of a steel sheet is executed at a high speed of >= 400 mpm. Above all, by making the amount of the upper limit of water added to the stock solution of a rolling mill lubricant equal or less than the amount of blending of the emulsion in the stock solution of the rolling mill lubricant, the required time for the particle size of the emulsion to become a stationary state is shortened. Further, when the making-up supply is made after solubilization by previous addition of water to the stock solution of the roling mill lubricant, the average particle size of the oil in the water of emulsion is made into a fine particle size of
