    • PURPOSE:To prevent fusion in speed-difference recording, defective travelling and the thermal transfer of an ink layer by specifying a dynamic friction coefficient to an image-receiving sheet of a sublimation type thermal transfer body in a recording method in which the image-receiving sheet and a recording medium are made to travel under specific conditions. CONSTITUTION:A sublimation type thermal transfer body and an image-receiving sheet are superposed, and both the thermal transfer body and the sheet are made to travel under the conditions of [speed of image-receiving sheet]/[speed of a recording medium]>1 or [feed rate of the image-receiving sheet]/[feed rate of recording medium]>1 and thermal printing is conducted. A dynamic friction coefficient to the image-receiving sheet of the sublimation type thermal transfer body is brought to 0.20 or less at 80 deg.C on measurement according to ASTMD1894 at that time. A dye sublimating and vaporizing at 60 deg.C or higher is used as a sublimating dye, and a vinyl chloride resin, a vinyl acetate resin, etc., are cited as a bonding agent. Condenser paper and a polyester film are employed as a base body sheet, and the kind of the bonding agent, the content of the sublimating dye, etc., are quoted as factors adjusting the dynamic friction coefficient.

    • PURPOSE:To increase image density, to enhance the bonding strength between a substrate and a dye receiving layer and to improve the releasability of an image receiving medium and a transfer recording medium after recording by laminating a specific intermediate layer and the dye receiving layer to the substrate in this order. CONSTITUTION:An intermediate layer C mainly consisting of a resin having a hydroxyl group and an isocyanate compound and a dye receiving layer B mainly consisting of a thermoplastic polyester resin and silicone oil are laminated to an image receiving substrate A in this order. That is, since the intermediate layer C is provided between the image receiving substrate A and the dye receiving layer B, the image receiving substrate A receives no effect of the silicone oil in the dye receiving layer B and the bonding strength of the image receiving substrate A and the dye receiving layer B is kept high and the release between the image receiving substrate A and the dye receiving layer B after recording is prevented. By this method, image density is increased and the dye receiving layer is not released from a dye transfer layer after recording and the releasability between the dye receiving layer and the dye transfer layer is made excellent.

    • PURPOSE:To enhance dyeability, releasability, light fastness, preservability, hardness and friction resistance by providing a dye receiving layer based on a specific vinyl chloride resin and an isocyanate compound on a substrate. CONSTITUTION:A dye receiving layer B mainly consisting of a vinyl chloride resin containing a COOH group and an isocyanate compound is provided on an image receiving substrate A. A heat-sublimable dye is sublimed and diffused from a dye transfer layer 4 by the heat from a thermal head 1 and the sublimed dye is transferred to the dye receiving layer B of an image receiving medium. The sublimed dye transferred to the image receiving medium is diffused through the dyeable resin forming the dye receiving layer B to be fixed to said resin. In such a case that an elastic layer C is provided between the image receiving medium A and the dye receiving layer B, pressure is uniformly applied at the time of recording and a high density image improved in the close adhesiveness to a transfer recording medium and having no dropout is obtained. In such a case that the dye receiving layer has laminated constitution, the release agent in a surface dye receiving layer B2 becomes easy to be conc. in the vicinity of the surface thereof because of the presence of a cured receiving layer B1 and the hardness and surface friction resistance of the receiving layer are markedly enhanced.

    • PURPOSE:To obtain a sharp image by preventing the color turbidity or ghost due to many-time printing by providing an ink layer, wherein a dye supply layer wherein a sublimable dye is dispersed in an org. binder and a dye transfer contributing layer are successively laminated, on a substrate. CONSTITUTION:A thermal transfer recording medium having double-layer constitution wherein the ink layer 2 provided on a substrate is functionally divided into a comparatively thin transfer contributing layer having sublimation transfer function and a dye supply layer having function for diffusing and supplying a sublimed dye to said layer 5 is used in combination with an image receiving material wherein at least the surface thereof is composed of a curable resin. By controlling the sublimable dye so as to easily diffuse and supply the same from the dye supply layer to the transfer contributing layer in the dye amount consumed by sublimation transfer from the transfer contributing layer to a free surface, many-time printing is made possible. By using the image receiving material whose receiving layer is composed of a curable resin, the transferred dye can be prevented from the reverse transfer from the image receiving layer to the ink layer at the time of the printing of the next color and, therefore, a sharp image having no color turbidity and ghost is obtained.

    • PURPOSE:To obtain an over head projector image free from the turbidity of color by a method wherein a sublimable thermal transfer recording medium provided with an ink layer containing a sublimable dye in an undissolved particle form is overlapped on a transparent image receiving sheet, the ink layer is thermally transferred, and a transferred image surface is thermally smoothened. CONSTITUTION:A sublimable thermal transfer recording medium 4 provided with an ink layer containing a sublimable dye in an undissolved particle form is overlapped on a transparent image receiving sheet 1, the ink layer is thermally transferred by a thermal head 5, and a transferred image surface on the image receiving sheet 1 is thermally smoothened by a heat roller 3. In the thermally smoothing treatment, the surface is depressed by the heat roller 3, a heat belt, or a heat resistant film having surface properties of a glossiness of pref. Gs (60 deg.C) >=50% to be heated to above the thermal deforming temp. of the image receiving layer, whereby the irregularities of the surface of the image receiving layer is smoothened. Scattering of light and color turbidity can be improved by applying the thermally smoothing treatment to the transferred image surface with irregularities.

    • PURPOSE:To eliminate the possibility that an ink layer may thermally fuse to an image receiving body at the time of printing by a recoding method wherein a recording medium is overlapped on the image receiving body provided with a dye accepting layer consisting of a vinyl chloride resin on a substrate and heated from the side of the thermal transfer recording medium and, thereby, a sublimable dye is transferred to the image receiving body. CONSTITUTION:On a substrate, a dye supply layer 4 and a transfer contributing layer 5 are provided in this order from the side of the substrate. A sublimable dye is adjusted so as to be easily diffused and supplied from the dye supply layer 4 to the transfer contributing layer 5 by the amount to be consumed from the transfer contributing layer 5 through a free surface by a sublimable transfer method. In this manner, a multi-time printing can be conducted. In addition, the use of an image receiving body having an accepting layer of a vinyl chloride as an image receiving body in this invention allows a printing to be conducted with high releasability and stable sheet running properties during printing. Furthermore, the high thermal stability of the image receiving body after an image forming prevents a change of an image in storage.
