    • PURPOSE:To replace the filter for an air purifier mainly removing a tobacco smell, for example, in an eating house, an office or a home. CONSTITUTION:Air containing tobacco smoke is passed through an air purifier wherein a dust collecting filter 7, a first deodorizing filter 6, a second deodorizing filter 5, a suction fan and an air discharge port are successively arranged on the downstream side of an air suction port to be purified and, thereafter, the contaminated filters are replaced. In this case, the dust collecting filter 7 contaminated with tar or the like is detached to arrange the first deodorizing filter used in deodorizing treatment as the dust collecting filter 7 and the first separate deodorizing filter 6 is newly arranged on the downstream side from the first deodorizing filter 6 used in deodorizing treatment. As the first deodorizing filter, a deodorizing filter wherein a hydrazine metal double salt is supported on a carrier formed from a layered clay mineral is used. By this constitution, the removal effect of a tobacco smell by an air purifier is enhanced and the maintenance cost can be reduced.

    • PURPOSE:To obtain a composition having air purifying capacity by a simple process wherein a metal or a metal alloy is brought into contact with an aqueous acid solution to be reacted therewith and a sulfur-containing metal or alloy powder is allowed to be present in contact with the obtained reaction product. CONSTITUTION:A metal selected from Te, Ni, Cr, Mn, Co, Cu and Zn or an alloy of two or more kinds of metals is brought into contact with an aqueous acid solution to be reacted therewith in the atmosphere. Subsequently, a sulfur- containing metal or alloy powder is allowed to be present in contact with the obtained reaction product to prepare air purifying matter. As the aqueous acid solution, an aqueous solution of an acid selected from ascorbic acid, citric acid, tartaric acid, gluconic acid, tannic acid and gallic acid is pref. As the method for bonding the sulfur-containing metal or alloy powder, a method wherein the sulfur-containing metal or alloy powder is mixed and kneaded with a colloidal solution obtained by reacting the metal or alloy powder with an aqueous solution of ascorbic acid or the like is pref.

    • PURPOSE:To fabricate through a simple process a composition which can remove compounds with constantly stable performance and which has power to clean air by adding an oxy-polybasic acid together with water to metals while specifying the amount of the group in a mole ratio against the metals, and causing the acid and the metals to react with each other until the PH of this solution reaches 5.0 to 7.5, and then adding an alkali solution thereto so as to adjust the PH to 6.0 to 14, and using a metal carrier for carrying a composition obtained. CONSTITUTION:One or two kinds of metals selected from among Fe, Mn, Al, Zn, Cr and Cu are made to react with an oxy-polybasic acid in a mole ratio of 1:0.5 to 1 in the presence of water so as to form a reaction solution of the metals and the oxy-polybasic acid of 7.5>PH>5.0. Next, an alkali is added to the reaction solution to fabricate a solution of an air-cleaning composition which is adjusted to 14>PH>6.0. A general alkali such as Ca(OH)2, NaOH, Mg(OH)2 and KOH is used as the above alkali and added directly or as solution to the colloidal reaction solution. The amount of the alkali added is 0.2 to 2% by weight of the metals. The solution of the air- cleaning composition is carried by a carrier which is a molding or sintered body of powder of one or two kinds of metals selected from among Fe, Mn, Al, Zn, Cr, and Cu, to form an air-cleaning material.

    • PURPOSE:To minimize pieces of ceramic plates, to bury space in a calcining furnace with uncalcined plate-like porous bodies as much as possible and to reduce the calcining cost by putting the uncalcined plate-like porous body on the ceramic plate and paper or cloth on this and further, the uncalcined plate- like porous body on these and calcining. CONSTITUTION:In the case of calcining the uncalcined plate-like porous body applying iron powder on urethane foam, etc., having 12mm thickness, the uncalcined plate-like porous bodies 1 constitute a laminate unit 5 inserting the paper or the cloth 2, and each constituted unit 5 is put on a ceramic floor plate or shelf (ceramic plate) 3 and calcined. By using this method, three pieces of uncalcined plate-like porous bodies can be piled and put on the ceramic plate having about 10mm thickness, and even if 1mm thickness of five pieces of the papers for parting between these is added, three pieces of uncalcined plate-like porous bodies can be set with about 52mm the total thickness. Only two pieces can be set at the most upper step, but eleven pieces in four steps can be calcined at one time. By this method, the calcining cost can be reduced by about 40%.
