    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a steel pipe having a strength of X80 or higher in the API standards and having excellent weld zone toughness.
      SOLUTION: Regarding a welded steel pipe composed of: a base metal part where, in a low C-Nb-Ti base, the contents of Mg, N and O are strictly limited, and also, fine carbonitride involving oxide composed of Mg and Al and composites consisting of oxide and sulfide are incorporated; a low C-Mn-Ni-Cr-Mo-B based weld metal part; and a HAZ where the old austenite grain size in the HAZ near a melting line is ≤150 μm, and solid solution B is present in the austenite grain boundaries within 150 μm from the melting line, the high strength steel pipe has satisfactory HAZ toughness. According to this invention, the provision of the high strength steel pipe (in a class of X80 to X100) having excellent weld heat affected zone toughness is made possible, thus the safety in marine transportation of CNG is remarkably improved, and further, the effective utilization of resources is made possible.
