    • PURPOSE:To determine the temp. of a 1st thermocouple when respective thermocouples make a prescribed temp. change as a clinker formation temp. and to enhance accuracy by providing the 1st, 2nd and 3rd thermocouples to the part right above a dispersion plate, nozzle part and the inside of a wind box. CONSTITUTION:The cylindrical dispersion plate 3 provided with a wind box 3a and a nozzle 3b and coal supplying nozzle 3c atop said box is disposed to the bottom of a coal gasification furnace A. The furnace A is lined with refactory casters on the inside of a stainless steel pipe 1 so that pressure and temp. can be maintained. The 1st thermocouple 6 is disposed right above the plate 3 indicating the max. temp. in the furnace 4 and the 2nd thermocouple 3 is inserted and disposed in the nozzle 3b of the plate 3 and the 3rd thermocouple in the wind box 3a. The temp. of the 1st thermocouple 6 just before the temp. change of the 2nd thermocouple 7 is determined as the clinker formation temp. when the temp. of the 2nd thermocouple 7 falls or quickly falls after a quick rise and when the temp. of the 3rd thermocouple falls quickly thereafter.

    • PURPOSE:To analyze the total quantity of tar having 150-600 deg.C b.p. with good accuracy from (A-C)+B by measuring the quantity A of the concentrated tar (150-500 deg.C b.p.), the quantity B of the dry solid tar (300-600 deg.C b.p.) and the quantity of the concentrated tar (300-500 deg.C b.p.) yielded by remelting of the dry solid tar after the weight measurement by gas chromatography. CONSTITUTION:The tar in the gas formed by the gasification of coal is adsorbed to an adsorbent and is dissolved in a toluene, etc., by which the tar is recovered. The tar soln. is concentrated and about 2mul the concentrated soln. of the tar is conducted to a gas chromatographic instrument, by which the tar-component is quantitatively determined. As a result, the quantity A of the tar having 150- 500 deg.C b.p. is obtd. The remaining concentrated soln. of the tar is dried and is weighed by a chemical balance, etc., by which the quantity B of the tar having 300-600 deg.C b.p. is obtd. The dry solid tar after the weight measurement is dissolved again by toluene, etc. and the tar-component is quantitatively determined by the gas chromatographic instrument. The quantity C of the tar having 300- 500 deg.C b.p. is thus obtd. The total weight of the tar having 150-600 deg.C b.p. is calculated from (A-C)+B.
