    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a packet communication system that regulates a time required for transmission of a nonreal time packet so as to prevent a transmission delay of a real time packet from being increased. SOLUTION: The packet communication system is provided with a voice detection section 1 that detects input of a voice signal (real time information), a voice coding section 2 that applies high efficiency coding to a voice signal, a voice packet generating section 3 that assembles a voice signal subjected to high efficiency coding into packets, a voice packet storage buffer 4 that stores the generated packets, a data packet generating section 8 that assembles a data signal (nonreal time information) into packets, a data packet storage buffer 9 that stores the generated packets, a channel control section 5 that transmits the packets stored in the packet storage buffers 4, 9 to a communication network, and a data packet length revision section 7 that decides the length of the packet generated by the data packet generating section 8 on the basis of information of a coded frame period when the voice detection section 1 detects the voice signal and the voice coding section 2 conducts high efficiency coding.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize an echo signal cancellation system with a reduced hardware scale whose convergence speed is improved independently of the frequency roll-off characteristics of an A/D converter and a D/A converter. SOLUTION: A residual signal e (i) through a subtrator 6 which applies the substation to a transmission signal x (i) through a terminal 3 used for superimposing an echo signal of which an input/output reception signal y (i) through terminals 1/2 is generated in a sneak echo path on a transmitter side speech signal and a pseudo echo signal r (i) passing via an inverse flat filter 9 through a finite length impulse response(FIR) filter part 5 is outputted to a terminal 4 and by using an adaptive filter coefficient update section 7, coefficient adaptive update processing with a flattened reception signal y (i)' through a reception signal buffer 51 of the FIR filter part 5 is applied to the signal e (i) to update the signal e (i) sequentially. An integration device 53 applied convolution arithmetic operation to the filter coefficient stored in a coefficient buffer 52 of the FIR filter part 5 and the flattened reception signal y (i)' stored in the reception signal buffer 51 via a flattened filter 8 to synthesize a flattened pseudo echo signal r (i)'.

    • PURPOSE: To obtain an echo canceler which never increase an echo by generating a dummy echo signal different from an actual echo signal even if the impulse response of an echo path abruptly varies. CONSTITUTION: A convolutional arithmetic part 9 performs convolutional operation between the contents of a received signal register 7 and the contents of an estimated impulse response register 8 and a subtracter 10 subtracts the arithmetic result from a transmission-side input signal. The output of the subtracter is inputted to a power calculation part 15 to calculate electric power. An estimated impulse response reset part resets the contents of the estimated impulse response register when the electric power is larger than the electric power calculated by a transmission-side input signal power calculation part 16 by more than a threshold value set by a threshold value setting part. Consequently, if the impulse response of the echo path abruptly varies, an estimated impulse response value as a factor of the generation of a dummy echo different from the actual echo signal is reset, so the echo canceler which never increases the echo is obtained.
