摘要： PURPOSE:To provide the applying method and applying device which widen a range for flattening the film thickness of a coated substrate and do not generate problems, such as dusting and damage of a bar, etc., in the case of applying a color filter material to be used for a liquid crystal television, etc., to the non-continuous substrate, such as glass substrate, by using a bar. CONSTITUTION:The spacing between a nip roller 14 which stops rotating and the rotating bar 11 is narrowed down to a prescribed value and the substrate 15 is held therebetween after the substrate arrives at the bar 11; thereafter, the nip roller 14 is rotated to transport the substrate 15 and to start application by which a sufficient liquid pool is formed behind the bar from the beginning of coating the substrate. Consequently, the rising of the coating film thickness at the front end of the substrate is fast, and the excellent coated substrate having the wide range of flattening the film thickness in the substrate is obtd.

摘要： PURPOSE:To produce a high-quality display which can widen a visual field angle and has good display performance by forming the picture element forming parts of a substrate as a recessed shape. CONSTITUTION:After a chromium film is formed on a glass substrate, a resist is applied thereon. This film is then patterned and wet etched to form light shielding parts 2. The resist used for the wet etching is not peeled. The film is dry etched by gas essentially consisting of carbon tetrachloride with the resist and the light shielding parts 2 as a mask, by which the glass substrate 8 formed with the recessed shape on the surface corresponding to the picture element forming parts is produced. The resist is then peeled. The light transmitted through a liquid crystal layer passes a transparent conductive film 5, protective film 4 and picture elements 3 of the color filter substrate. The light is radially expanded at the time of the incidence on the substrate 8 having the recessed shape. This light emits from the substrate. Then, the visual field angle is widened.

CONSTITUTION:The color filters having the excellent surface smoothness of the transparent resin layer 7 are produced by alternately forming the picture elements 2 of the three colors, red, blue and green, on the transparent glass substrate 1, providing the conductive films 4 in the spacing parts 3 between the respective picture elements 2, providing plural terminals 5, 6 for energization on the conductive films 4, and applying a transparent resin liquid 8 on the transparent glass substrate 1, then conducting films 4 to evaporate the solvent of the spacings 3 between the picture elements and to fluidize the transparent resin liquid 8 of the high flowability on the picture elements 2 which do not increase the temp., thereby packing the spacings.

摘要： PURPOSE:To manufacture a polychromatic optical filter at low cost by arranging a sheet containing silver halide in a green sensitizing layer, a red sensitizing layer and a blue sensitizing layer sensitive to prescribed wavelengths on a transparent base material, and irradiating patternized light consisting of red, green, blue and black colors. CONSTITUTION:A sheet consisting of a green sensitizing layer containing sensitizing dye and silver halide sensitive to at least 500 - 600nm, a red sensitizing layer containing sensitizing dye and silver halide sensitive to 400 - 500nm and 600 - 700nm, a blue sensitizing layer containing silver halide and a yellow filter is arranged on a transparent base material. After patternized light consisting of red, green, blue and black colors is irradiated to this, and after each of magenta, cyanogen and yellow is made colored externally, silver existing in an exposure part is desilverized so that a polychromatic optical filter can be formed. The process is simplified, and the productive efficiency is increased, so that the polychromatic optical filter can be manufactured at low cost.
