    • PURPOSE:To demagnetize the residual magnetism of a special steel by a method wherein the magnetic flux acting on a material to be demagnetized is so controlled as to vary as positive negative demagnetization negative. CONSTITUTION:U character type magnets consisting yokes 5, magnetic poles 6, 7 and exciting coils 8 are equipped on a frame 10 extending nearly over the whole length of the steel material 1 interposing a nonmagnetic material 9 between them to form the demagnetizing device. When the steel material 1 is an ordinary steel, the demagnetization can be performed simply by making one cycle of the demagnetizing current -i to flow against the magnetizing current +i. When the steel material 1 is the special steel, the demagnetization can be performed comparatively effectively by making one cycle of the demagnetizing current -i' to flow against the magnetizing current +i. Moreover when the special steel is Chrome-molybdenum steel, etc., two cycle demagnetization reversing the polarity proves effective. Namely it forms the demagnetizing pattern of magnetizing +i cut demagnetizing -i' cut reverse directional magnetizing -i cut reverse directional demagnetizing +i' cut. Accordingly even in the special steel, the residual magnetism can be demagnetized.

    • PURPOSE:To obtain two functions, that is, reduction of collision sound and prevention against stoppage when a substance to be conveyed such as a steel pipe is rolled and conveyed along inclined rails by a method wherein polarities of magnets arranged on the rails are switched over at a suitable time and shift of magnetic potential is formed. CONSTITUTION:This conveying device for the steel pipe 2 rolled along inclined skid rails is composed of an inner polar magnetic rail 10 and outer polar magnetic ones 11 which are fixed to a york 15 through several inner poles 12 and several outer ones 13 arranged at suitable intervals respectively and exciting coils 14 are wound around the inner pole 12. Here, when these three magnets are described as A-C and the exciting coils 14 are turned on or off as (1)-(4) the magnetic potentials change as shown in the figure. The shift of magnetic potential which has been generated in this way gives rocking to the steel pipe 2 and adds a preventive function its stoppage.

    • PURPOSE: To easily transfer a stopped steel pipe by sequentially repeating the normal excitation of electromagnets of each group during a fixed period of time to apply oscillation to the steel pipe when the steel pipe is stopped on a skid rail.
      CONSTITUTION: In an apparatus in which a steep pipe 7 is transported by repeating the normal and inverse excitation of plural electromagnets 8, inner magnetic poles 1 for fixing inner pole iron cores 3 where exciting coils 2 forming respective electromagnets 8 are mounted are magnetically independent from each other, and outer pole iron cores 5 which are magnetic paths of the inner pole iron cores 3 are arranged on the same straight line perpendicular to the direction of transporting the steel pipe. The method of control is such that the electromagnets are excited sequentially form the steel pipe carry-in to side the carry-out side only during a short period of time. Thus, oscillation is applied to a stopped steel pipe to be easily transferred without losing the function of transporting the steel pipe with low noise.
