    • PURPOSE:To provide a heat-sensitive recording medium high in brightness and excellent in adaptivity to high-speed recording, wherein a specified heat-fusible substance having a melting point in a specified range is incorporated in a heat- sensitive color forming layer comprising a basic dye and a color forming agent as main constituents.     • PURPOSE:To obtain a sensitive thermal recording material having high brightness and very little refuse adhering to a thermal head by containing calcium sulfoaluminate in a recording layer. CONSTITUTION:To form a thermal recording material, a thermal recording layer containing a color coupler and a coloration agent for coloring the color coupler on heating is provided on a support and calcium sulfoaluminate is contained in the recording layer. The calcium sulfoaluminate to be used is an artificial pigment obtained when aluminum sulfate and calcium hydroxide are caused to react with each other and its chemical composition is generally represented by 3CaO.Al2O3.3CaSO4.32H2O but its composition ratio changes according to the mixing ratio of raw materials. The usage ratio of the calcium sulfoaluminate is determined according to an adhesive to be combined, pigment to be used jointly, etc., and not necessarily limited, but it is desirable to use the sulfoaluminate in the range of 0.1-50wt.% for the total solid of a dried coating liquid in the thermal recording layer. Thus, it is possible to obtain a sensitive thermal recording material having high brightness and very little refuse adhering to a thermal head.
