    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a passbook printer capable of enhancing the reading rate of a magnetic stripe without preparing a special mechanism even when writing data of the magnetic stripe are partially omitted or deviated in either upward or downward. SOLUTION: In the case when the reading is impossible when the writing data of the magnetic stripe of the passbook are read out, the magnetic stripe is read out at the position where the passbook is firstly shifted upward somewhat in addition to the reading at the normal position of the magnetic stripe, and when the reading is still impossible, the read-out of the writing data of the magnetic stripe is made possible by reading the magnetic stripe at the position where the passbook is shifted downward somewhat from the normal position of the magnetic stripe, even in the case the writing data of the magnetic stripe are partially omitted or the writing position of the magnetic stripe is deviated in the upper or lower direction.

    • PURPOSE:To ensure that passbooks can be stacked in a small space by retracting passbooks through a transport path for transport processing once using a transport guide, pressing the near-end area of passbooks sent to the guide to the surface of the guide at a specified pressure by a holding member and transporting a passbook to the retracted passbooks so that it is stacked thereon. CONSTITUTION:The tip of a passbook 19 transported is detected by a sensor 22 and the rear end of the passbook is sent to a position where the rear end runs off a guide 2. Then a guide 12 is lowered and the rear end of the passbook 19 is allowed to come below a transport path consisting of a guide 1 and the guide 2. In addition, the passbook 19 is released from a state where it is sandwiched between a roller 4 and a roller 6, and the passbook 19 is parked from the transport path. After that, a holding roller 13 is pressed against an area near the rear end of the passbook 19, and then the passbook 19 is transported to a position where it does not come in contact with the roller 13 in a guide 12 direction, using rollers 3, 5. Subsequently, the tip of a passbook 20 is stacked over the rear end of the passbook 19. Then the passbook 20 sandwiched between the rollers 3, 5 is transported in a guide 12 direction and the passbook 19 is stacked over the passbook 20.

    • PURPOSE:To easily insert an ink ribbon by both hands of an operator by hooking the latch provided to a movable member such as a carrier with a rail like guide by pulling-separation operation and separating a printing head to lock the same. CONSTITUTION:A rail like guide 5 is mounted on a guide frame 7 being a position fixing member and a latch 16 is provided to a carrier slide 2 being a member movable together with a carrier 3 and a printing head retraction mechanism is constituted of the rail like guide 15 and the latch 16. The latch 16 is mounted to the carrier slide 2 in a rotatable state and, when a printing head 1 is pulled up, said printing head 1 is hooked with the rail like guide 15 and a gap for making an ink ribbon 12 easy to push-in at the setting time of said ink ribbon 12 can be secured between the printing head 1 and a platen 10 or a paper presser 13. Herein, an operator replaces the ink ribbon 12 along with a ribbon cassette 11 but the front surface of the printing head 1 is largely opened and the ink ribbon 12 can be easily inserted between the printing head 1 and the paper presser 13.

    • PURPOSE:To improve the capacity of a paper feeder, by making paper refeedable in the state that a lower end of the separated paper is in a paper separating part, in the case of the automatic paper feeder that separates a topmost sheet from the stacked ones and conveys them piece by piece. CONSTITUTION:A pickup roller 1 is made free of rotation together with a drive shaft 2 in design, and a solenoid clutch is attached to one end of this shaft 2, whereby driving force by a timing belt is transmitted to the shaft 2 or cut off at need. A separate roller 3 is support by a support shaft 5 via a one-way clutch, and it is being pressed to the roller 1 by a roller spring 6. Many stacked sheets 18 are being pressed to the roller 1 by a hopper spring 12 via a hopper 11 being free of rotation with a hopper shaft 15 as a fulcrum. Therefore, only a topmost sheet of paper 17 of these stacked sheets 18 is separated from the roller 3, and taken out in an A direction under guidance of paper guides 9 and 10. On the other hand, in case of refeeding, the topmost paper 17 returns to a B direction by the clutch 4.
