In order to prevent the gears 104, 106, 107 from coming off to a thrust direction, the guide plate 121 to which the gear shafts 1d, 1f, 1g have been coupled so as to be passed is arranged between the base stand 2 and the gears 104, 106, 107.

CONSTITUTION:On a REW operation an idler gear 143 is engaged with a winding-side reel by a neutral position deciding member 280 and an idler arm 144 is always pressed in the direction of encroaching in a winding side reel base 201. When a STOP command is added, the rotation of a capstan motor 102 is changed from a supplying direction to a winding direction. In accordance with this change of a rotary direction, the arm 144 is rotated in the supplying direction, the gear 143 is disengaged with the gear section 201a of the reel base 201 and engaged with the gear section 202a of a supply-side reel base 202. At this time, the supply-side reel is rotated in the winding direction by inertia. Thus, the number of components is reduced, the device is miniaturized and further, a highly reliable braking mechanism is realized.

Rotation bearing parts 244 of the arms 24 and 25 are inserted into holes 305 and 306 for positioning the cassette 30, respectively. With the movement of the sub-chassis 20, the arms 24 and 25 are rotated around the shafts 243 and 253. With these rotations, the guide posts 241 and 251 planted on the arms 24 and 25 draw out the magnetic tape 31 from the cassette 30 and form a prescribed path. The chassis 20 is moved in a reciprocating manner between a setting-removing position of the cassette 30 and a recording-reproducing position thereof by a driving arm.
