摘要： PURPOSE:To impart excellent adhesiveness of coating material to the surface of a metallic material by successively anodizing, cathodizing and anodizing the uncoated metallic material under specified conditions. CONSTITUTION:Before the surface of a metallic material is coated with coating material, the material is anodized at least once in an aq. alkaline solution (sodium hydroxide, etc.) and then cathodized in an aq. chromic acid solution (chromic anhydride, etc.). The material is further anodized at least once in an aq. solution of a silane coupling agent (N-beta-(aminoethyl)-gamma- aminopropyltrimethoxysilane, etc.). The adhesiveness of coating material to the metallic material surface is improved in this way.

摘要： PURPOSE:To control the evolution of hydrogen sulfide by providing an exhaust gas purification catalyst consisting of the base material of a heat resisting carrier, a carrier layer of the metal oxide consisting mainly of aluminum oxide deposited on the surface of this base material and a precious metal catalyst deposited on this carrier layer. CONSTITUTION:A ceramic of honeycomb structure or heat resisting metal plate is used as the base material of a heat resisting carrier, on which is deposited a porous layer consisting of aluminum oxide, a main constituent thereof, cerium oxide, nickel oxide and barium oxide in such proportions that the layer comprises, per 2mol of alumimum, 0.1-0.6mol of cerium, 0.01-1.0mol of nickel and 0.01-1.25mol of barium. The aforesaid nickel and barium are made a multiple oxide and the aforesaid cerium oxide is made present on the surface of the carrier layer of this multiplex oxide and the aluminum oxide. A precious metal catalyst consisting of at least any one of platinum, palladium and rhodium is deposited on this carrier layer to form a highly active clean-up catalyst capable of controlling reactions between nickel and alumina and the evolution of hydrogen sulfide.

摘要： PURPOSE:To improve purification performance of NOx in the lean atmosphere by allowing a monolithic carrier to be spread with slurry in which zeolite, silica sol, alumina sol and water are blended and calcining it and thereafter immersing it in a metallic salt aq. soln. CONSTITUTION:Slurry is prepared by mixing zeolite, silica sol, alumina sol and water. A monolithic carrier is spread with this slurry and thereafter calcined to form a catalyst carrier. Then a catalyst for purifying exhaust gas is produced by immersing this catalyst carrier in a metallic salt aq. soln. of metal utilized as the catalyst and allowing zeolite to be carried with the metal utilized as the catalyst by ion exchange. A mixing ratio of silica sol and alumina sol is preferably regulated to such mixing ratio that Si/Al thereof is not made far from Si/Al of zeolite.

The catalyst thus obtained for purifying exhaust gas suppresses the discharge of hydrogen sulfide. Therefore, it is unnecessary to provide a hydrogen sulfide oxidizing catalyst and an increase in a wt. and an increase in cost can be prevented.
