    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a separation method of 1,5-AG, capable of separately collecting 1,5-AG with high purity at a high collecting rate.SOLUTION: A method separates 1,5-AG from a liquid concentrate containing sugar including 1,5-AG with eluent water using a chromatographic separation apparatus. The liquid concentrate has a sugar concentration of equal to or more than 20 wt.%. The chromatographic separation apparatus comprises a circulation system composed of serially and endlessly connected packed towers filled with a strong acid ion exchange resin or an immobilizing enzyme, a liquid concentrate supply part and an eluent supply part to the circulation system, and a discharge part of a 1,5-AG fraction and a discharge part of a sugar fraction other than 1,5-AG from the circulation system. The respective supply parts and the respective discharge parts are arranged in a specific sequence in the circulation system and sequentially moved in a specific direction while keeping the same positional relationship among them, so that separation is performed while four zones formed in the circulation system are moving.
