    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a video display device and a driving method of the device in which wide dynamic range video display is provided while displaying natural video represented by HD and other TV systems, sense of incongruity caused by wiring voltage drop while displaying flat video having high average luminance represented by a computer output is reduced and a uniform and clear display is provided regardless of the kinds of video signals.
      SOLUTION: In a horizontal driving means 8 which applies modulation signals to column wirings Dx1 to Dx1920 of a display panel 1, pulse widths and pulse locations of the modulation signals are determined based on the video signals to be displayed so that the applied intervals of the modulation signals are spread over for every column wiring. Moreover, the pulse amplitudes related to the modulation signals are modulated based on the control signals from a system control means 10.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of forming laminated wiring, with which a short-circuit defect attributable to a pin hole in a thick film insulator layer can be prevented. SOLUTION: After an insulation layer 36 is covered with a resin film 50 in a resin paste printing step and a drying step, a thick film silver paste is applied to form row-direction wiring 34 in a thick film conductor paste printing step. Consequently, when the thick film silver paste is applied, the thick film silver paste is not allowed to flow into the pin hole 52 even when these is a pin hole 52 in the insulation layer 36 in a portion in which column-direction wiring and the row-direction wiring are to overlap since this layer is coated with the resin film 50. This resin film 50 exists between the insulating layer 36 and the thick film silver paste, but, since the resin film is burned at the same time when the row-direction wiring 34 is formed in a burning step, the tow-direction wiring 34 is attached tot the insulation layer 36 in the same manner as in a conventional method.
