摘要： PURPOSE:To lower the rigidity of a mechanical-to-electric conversion element, to easily deform it, to improve its frequency response property and to reduce its weight by a method wherein an opening is formed nearly in the central part of the mechanical-to-electric conversion element. CONSTITUTION:At an automatic tracking apparatus, an opening 23 is formed in the central part of its mechanical-to-electric conversion element. In this case, even when the diameter of a rotary head drum 1 is made smaller than that in conventional cases, the rigidity of a bimorph plate 14 become low. As a result, it can be swung to the up-and-down direction with a large displacement. Since the bimorph plate 14 is deformed more easily, its response property is improved even when the response frequency of a tracking servo becomes high. The weight of the bimorph plate 14 is reduced thanks to the opening part 23 in the center. Since the action of a centrifugal force is reduced by the opening 23, the amount of deviation of the center of gravity is reduced even when a magnetic head 4 is mounted, a vibration is not caused and the generation of a jitter can be reduced.
