CONSTITUTION:Upper and lower intermediate rolls 1b and 1b' positioned between upper and lower backup rolls 1c and 1c' and an upper working roll 1a of a six-high rolling mill 1 are connected with a driving device 3 using spindles 2 and 2'. Gears 5, 5', 6, 6', 7, 8, and 8' in the driving device 3 driven by driving motors M1 and M2 are engaged and disengaged by clutches 9a-9e. The upper and lower intermediate rolls 1b, 1b' and the upper working roll 1a are driven by various engagement and disengagement combinations of the clutches 9a-9e, the presence or absence of mechanical tie between the motors M1 and M2, and driving by only one motor so as to be suited for production of various kinds of products in small amount.

    • PURPOSE:To form a space for disposition of ancillary equipment for rolling, etc. around each driving shaft of upper and lower work rolls by extending the driving shafts from the respective roll end faces on the opposite sides with respect to the center of a rolling mill and connecting driving machines to the respective driving shafts. CONSTITUTION:The 1st upper and lower driving shafts 24, 25 coupled to each of the upper and lower work rolls 22, 23 of the small-sized rolling mill are extended and constituted on the opposite sides with respect to the center CL of the rolling mill 21. The rotating force of a motor 26 is transmitted via a split transmission device 28 consisting of three grears to the 2nd upper and 3rd lower driving shafts 29, 30. The rotating force of the shaft 30 is transmitted via a reverse transmission device 31 consisting of two gears to the 2nd lower driving shaft 32. The respective rotating forces of the shafts 29, 30 are transmitted vial ball joints 33, 34 to the shafts 24, 25. Instruments for measuring rolling conditions including torque detectors 37, 39, slip rings 38, 40, etc. are disposed to at least one of the shafts 24, 25 if necessary.

    • PURPOSE:To obtain the titled device which is simple and inexpensive, and can be used as a winding different speed rolling mill or a tension applying device, by constituting a driving system of a roll device provided on the downstream of a rolling mill, so that driving shafts of each roll are connected by an attachable and detachable mechanism tying means. CONSTITUTION:In a roll device 2 by which a strip can be wound through deflector rolls 3, 3 to a pair of rolls 4a, 4b provided on the downstream side of a rolling mill, a gear 6 fixed to a shaft 5 connected to the roll 4a is meshed with a gear 8 fixed to an output shaft of a motor 7, and on the other hand, a gear 11 fixed to a shaft 10 connected to the roll 4b is meshed with a gear 13 fixed to an output shaft of a motor 12, so that the rolls 4a, 4b can be driven separately. Also, a gear 14 meshed with a gear 9 fixed to said shaft 5 is fitted into the shaft 10, and also the shafts 5, 10 are connected by a gear through a clutch 15 so that the rolls 4a, 4b can be tied by a gear.
