SOLUTION: This operating method to operate the wind power generating device furnished with a windmill to rotate by wind power, a support of support the windmill, a generator to convert rotational energy to electric energy, a rotation axis to transmit rotation by the windmill to the generator and a rotation stop means to stop rotation of the rotation axis includes a flame generation detection process (S1) to detect generation of a flame in the wind power generating device, a rotation stop process (S3) to stop rotation of the rotation axis in accordance with detection by the flame generation detection process and a fire-extinguishing process (S6) to extinguish the flame after stopping rotation of the rotation axis by the rotation stop process.     • PURPOSE:To improve the rocovery of energy, by changing the load on a wind power generator and controlling the rotational speed of a wind mill at nearly constant level. CONSTITUTION:When the rotational speed of a wind mill 1 rises, while the increased speed stays in ''ON'' rauge of the first, the second and the third relays 15, 16, 17 and in ''OFF'' range of the other relays, and the down operation of an up-and-down counter 41 is locked. On the other hand, as the output of a NOT26 is continuously 1, and AND35 puts out the same square wave as the output of an oscillator 36. The outputs of the output terminals L1, L2, L3... of a load control circuit 19 come to 0 successively every time when one square wave of the UP terminal of the up-and-down counter 41 comes in, loads 5, 6, 7... are thrown in the output circuit of a generator 2 successively, and the rotational speed of the wind mill 1 is reduced. Accordingly, the rotational speed of the wind mill 1 is kept nearly constant, and the recovery of energy is improved.
