    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain stable ignitability with high accuracy by a simple control according to operating conditions in ignition control freely rotating the crankshaft of an internal combustion engine composed of a single cylinder both in a forward rotation direction and a reverse rotation direction.
      SOLUTION: It is determined to be 'forward rotation' when an inequality of Tn/Tn-1≥K (K is a determination constant) is continuously satisfied 4 times every other time in the rotation rear signal G2 side wherein Tn-1 means a signal generating interval of the previous time and Tn means the interval of this time based on a rotation front signal G1 and rear signal G2 generated according to a timing sensor signal by a timing sensor over protrusion parts 21,..., 26 disposed at the outer peripheral side of the rotary body rotated synchronously with the crankshaft of the engine. Thus, the design flexibility in the positional relation of the protrusion parts 21,..., 26 can be increased in manufacturing the rotary body, and the ignition timing can be controlled stably with high accuracy according to the operation conditions of the engine.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ignition system control method accurately conducting ignition control in normal and reverse rotations of an engine. SOLUTION: A rotating element 10 rotates together with a crank shaft, and rotates one turn when the crank shaft rotates one turn. The rotating element 10 has a disc-shaped rotating main body 11, and teeth 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, and 25 provided on an outer periphery of the rotating main body 11 and outwardly projecting in a radial direction. The tooth 20 is longer than the other teeth in a rotating direction. A timing sensor 30 detects front and back stepped portions in the rotating direction of each tooth, and outputs a sensor signal. During normal operation of an engine, count-down is started when detecting the stepped portion in the rotating direction front side of a tooth of a cylinder position forward in the rotating direction of a remarked cylinder. When a counter becomes zero, an ignition plug of the remarked cylinder is ignited, and fuel is burned.
