    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide compression resistance without impairing a low relative dielectric constant, high heat resistance, and an impregnating ability by forming filter paper with fibril resin fibers and wood pulp. SOLUTION: Properly beaten wood pulp and synthetic resins blended with it are used as main materials. The proper synthetic fibers are fibril polyarylate resin fibers having the nearly similar configuration to that of the beaten wood pulp. In the case of a board having the heat resistance of about the E type, the mixing ratio of the resin fibers and pulp is set to 30-100: 70-0wt.%. The resin fibers have the heat resistance of the H type or above, a low relative dielectric constant, and the fibrillation with the configuration similar to that of the beaten wood pulp, and the resin fibers can hold a good entangled state with the pulp. When a press board thus obtained is used concurrently with a liquid or gas insulating material, no problem occurs on its impregnating ability, it has a relative dielectric constant lower than that of the conventional one, and it is excellent in heat resistance and compression resistance.
