    • PURPOSE:To automate a winder, by causing a fluid to flow so that the moving of a fiberglass strand is guided from an upper bunching roller to the strand pinch-holding part of a pulling mechanism under a collet at the beginning of spinning. CONSTITUTION:At the beginning of spinning-out of fiberglass, a lower gutter 41 is kept in a position as shown in the drawing, by the action of a rotary shaft 45, and a feed valve is opened so that water jets out of a water ejection tube 43. A strand S made as a result, of the spinning-out from a bushing 1 and of bunching with a bunching agent is introduced into the upper receiving part of a gutter 40 along a bunching roller 4. The strand S is then moved to the top of the guide roller 9 of a lower pulling and cutting-off mechanism through the gutters 40, 41 as the water flows down. At that time, a hold-down roller 10 is separated from the guide roller 9 and the guide roller is rotated by the turning of a cutter roller 11 so that the strand S is inserted in between the rollers 9, 10. The rollers 9, 10 are then brought into pressure contact with each other to make the strand S tense.

    • PURPOSE:To achieve safe initial winding by enabling winding of the waist strand section of glass fiber bundle strand over an auxiliary winding frame thereby automating the winding operation of the waist strand section. CONSTITUTION:A glass fiber filament 2 spinned from a spinning bushing 1 will contact with a bundling agent applying roller 3 to be applied with the bundling agent to produce single strand (S) through a bundling roller 4 then contact with a string lead rod 11 and held between tension rollers 9a, 9b thereafter passes through the front face at the idle end of a winding collet 6 of a winder 5 to produce wound state. Consequently a pressure cylinder 15 will function to project the tip of a peg 8 in an auxiliary winding frame 7 to the outercircumference at the idle end of said collet 6. Here the strand (S) is stretched between two pegs 8 to start winding thus to rotate the collet 6, and at the time point where both of them have reached to predetermined speed, said rod 11 is retreated to inoperative position (C). Consequently the strand (S) is wound over the collet 6.
