CONSTITUTION:A tonneau cover for an automobile is formed by providing a journalled part 2 rotatably and removably supported at the front end part of a luggage room 14, and a cover body 3 disposed in an approximately horizontal position so as to divide the luggage room 14 vertically and movable into an approximately vertical position around the journalled part 2 in association with the opening of a rear door. A stop display board 4 formed of metallic material is then held to the lower face side of the cover body 3. Reinforcements are respectively disposed in the axle direction at the lower face side journalled part side and rear end part of the cover body 3, and the stop display board 4 is removably supported at the reinforcements.
